Nobody won Gamescom: whole show sucked
Lackluster presentation by Sony and Microsoft.
[b]Lowlights:[/b]
— Advanced Borefare has a money-hungry pre-order edition because publishers love preorders more than sales
— Destiny was showed off like this: a suit from Activision gave a fancy speech peppered with buzzwords that was sure to make any stockholders in the audience rock hard, then some developer from Bungie with no presentation skills (don't blame him) uncomfortably read from a teleprompter for a while until they showed off yet another trailer for Destiny that emphasized its lack of innovation and tried to get people excited for some DLC.
— Crystal Dynamics announced its love for Microsoft's wallet
— Microsoft kept milking Halo.
— Hideo Kojima is finally working on something other than MGS, and it's a game from a horror franchise so he'll probably ruin it because he knows nothing about subtlety.
— PlayStation Vita was ignored again.
— Sony treated a lot of multiplatform games like they were only on their console, tried to play it off like "timed exclusive" was the same thing as "exclusive."
— Sony ignored PlanetSide 2 again.
— Microsoft ignored Project: Spark again.
A lot of hype and no payoff. And people wonder why I don't own either of these consoles...

Sony knows it killed the game when they did their casual console gamers overhaul. Player count is at an all time low and they've had to merge a bunch of servers so that the game wont be a barren wasteland.

2 RepliesI think Bungie had a great time developing Destiny, but a not so great time working with Activision. Couldn't blame them either. And the fact that they have to work with them for about 10 more years or so probably makes them die inside.

Bloodbourne was cool. But GC was kinda lackluster. It would have been great if we got The last guardian drop. Oh well maybe Sony will show up strong at TGS since the PS4 hasn't been to strong with its Japan sales and lack of RPGs....maybe good stuff from Square Enix and Capcom. I don't expect anything strong from XBOX in Japan though. Maybe one decent drop that wasn't ready before.
