What reason would there be to not include matchmaking for raids? It's not like an argument on whether to buff or nerf a weapon or ability, in which there are drawbacks and possible bad consequences of a the weapon or ability being too strong or too weak. There simply isn't any drawbacks to not having the matchmaking for raids.
The 2 things that I am seeing said by people against raid matchmaking are that "Raids will be too difficult to play with randoms and will cause people to cry for nerfs!" That is assuming that every person who doesn't play with a party is trash and doesn't have mics. I for one only have 2 friends that I play with online. I have plenty more on my friends list, but I just really enjoy playing by myself, except those 2 people are my best friends in real life and we have a blast playing together, other than that I prefer playing by myself. This would make me a random who doesn't play with a party, but I'm still a well above average player with a 2.0 KD. So clearly not everyone who is in matchmaking for raids will be bad. Another way to avoid people crying for nerfs because a team of randoms can't beat a raid is to require mics for matchmaking in raids, so people are forced to communicate. If a team of people with average skill all have mics then there is a good chance of beating raids, so requiring mics is a great way to implement matchmaking in raids.
The 2nd argument thrown in the face of those who want matchmaking raids, is typically "Are you that lazy and unresourceful to be able to find 5 other players?" This argument just doesn't have a place in video games. Video games should be fun (which destiny is), long lasting (which destiny is), and convenient to play (which raids are not). I'm about to be in college, where I will be juggling not only a ton of school work because it is a high level education private college, but also college basketball where I will have practice up to 3 times a day. It would be a complete pain in the ass if the little time that I had to play, I had I coordinate 5 other people to get on at the same time so we could play. However, if I could get on with a friend or 2 (who all have mics), and matchmake for another few (who would be forced to have mics assuming these ideas are implemented). Then I could get on, do raids, have fun and earn gear. And how would that
Now, other than "you're too lazy" , or "it would be too hard for randoms (which is easily fixed by requiring mics), how would it hurt anybody if they included matchmaking in raids? I'm not asking this as a rhetorical question, if there is something that I am missing on to why raids shouldn't be implemented, I would actually appreciate it if someone could fill me in.

Edited by sergeantawesome: 8/8/2014 11:51:52 PMI am tired of these threads. Yes, they should allow it but not compromise the integrity of the raid. But Bungie said no as a response to upset fans, so we will not get it regardless.
