Weird, I do it because they look more aesthetically pleasing. I make both genders, but 3/5 ones I made in the beta were female, just better looking character models and faces. You don't even see your ass playing this game unless you're in the tower, lol.
I did it in Reach too, set to female, because their running sounds were less annoying than the male, and the armor I used looked better on that model.
I use the 'it's not a real person' argument as well, why does it matter if the character you play is female, it's not like most people are actually trying to[i] be[/i] their characters (one guy was upset because he kept trying to hit on female characters and was upset when they turned out to be guys, like, come on you're trying to hit on people playing a game and basing it on their character's gender? wtf). I don't see anything wrong with actually wanting to roleplay either, but that's not why I do it.

Wonder if that's true. It makes perfect sense, come to think of it. Other than that, I like to imagine guys that play as girl characters as that really fat, bed-ridden dude from Surrogates who's surrogate was a hot ass white slut. HAHAHAHA. It's all in good fun though.
