I wish people would really stop crying about this. You will need to put forth some time and effort to have a good team to attempt raids with. Simple as that, find a good bunch of guys and have at it. "But I don't have the time".... then why are you gaming? Is that Bungies fault? NOPE. End game content is meant to be extremely hard and not everyone will get to see it or complete it, just how it should be. Why do people that don't have the time or skill deserve the same high end gear as the people that put hours, weeks, months into content to complete it? Simple, they don't. Have you ever played a game like WoW? End game raid content (vanilla WoW was tough) was HARD, and only those that went every week / month got the good loot because they put forth the time and effort. But what is WoW like today? Not really as fun because of arguments like this that Blizzard gave into. Now you can get welfare epics like it's no ones business and you can jump into semi hard random raids that people just rush through, wig out if you aren't a prefect player and that's about it. It's no longer challenging or even fun. But yah, having quick MM gets you into a run faster... Also, why did so many people complain about having such a small friends list last gen, to then get it bumped up to several thousand on the new systems but people are too afraid to make friends to try end game content with? I don't get it. I'm sure while playing the game everyone will come across several people they enjoy running around with. Bungie made the right choice here imo, maybe everyone should wait to play the game to see how well you do first? Maybe you aren't as good as you think and you wouldn't be any help in the runs anyways?? Who knows, wait until you try it before complaining about it.

I understand your argument but I still don't see why both proposed sides cannot exist. Sure groups formed from MM are likely to fail more often but that is a known risk when you search for random party members. in compensation for getting a group together easier and quicker. I for one will not be able to play at the same time every week but would still like to play raids. Trying to organize that with 5 other busy people is going to be a nightmare. If I can get 4 people together, why not let me tag on two random people? The only thing the lack of MM does is create an inconvenience and a false sense of elitism. You do make a valid point regarding hopefully finding more friends but I would still argue that coordinating for busy people is going to horrible.

  • I can tell you from experience... The nightmare in finding a group will be nothing to the nightmare of constantly being demolished by the first wave of enemies with a bunch of people you don't know blaming each other for failure.

  • If this game is anywhere the difficulty of reach on legendary then 3 skilled organized players and a couple of capable random people will be fine. What's stopping people blaming random people they met on the forums?

Your basing your assumptions on another game [Halo Reach]. I am basing mine on what the Developers have specifically said regarding the difficulty of the Destiny raids. I'm sorry but, I'll take Bungie's word on this one.
I'm not really sorry
I'm merely trying to relate it to something that I've experienced. There is no way for me to how hard it is. They said reach would be incredibly hard but I did not think it was overtly difficult. I can't see it being that challenging with the increased group sizes. The argument still stands that MM should be allowed however. If make a clan saying "Skilled players only" their is no deterrent or barrier stopping people from joining. I have now made one of the "elite" clans made up of random people. Again I implore you to enlighten me as to why these random patchwork clans on here are going to drastically reduce the blaming and failures.

  • I've made some and will continue to make preparations before and after the release of Destiny. Raids are included in this process. Either you can make similar preparations or you can come on the forums and complain that there isn't matchmaking. It's about how you want to spend your time. It's your choice.

  • That is what I'm going to have to do if they don't rectify it. I'm just baffled that they think that making it more difficult and time consuming is better for the customer. How does not including this feature add value to the product?

  • I think it will be worth the effort, but we have to wait and see Guardian. It's part of the journey.

  • Bungie didn't include MM likely due to the fear that players will have bad experiences with a matchmade group and let that sour their opinion of Destiny. This would lead to dissent and players possible giving up on the game. Bungie is trying to ensure people are responsible for their own choice in group members and to foster the social aspect of the game. I expect there will be a staging ground/location in game where players can meet up and form groups. It won't be hard to find a group.

  • Hopefully what you say is true! But there is already dissent regarding the lack of MM. They could put in a cautionary text saying that will likely fail without a team when you join MM. To me, Bungie isn't giving me the responsibility as much as they are forcing it on me. If I want to be foolish and attempt a raid with 4 other nobodies then I feel like I should be able to! Who knows, maybe I'll end up making friends out of the raid!

  • You should really drop the idea of being "skilled enough" from your line of reasoning.

  • Why? The game is designed to challenge all players of all different skill types. And it's set up that your gear is it's own bragging right. If you're bad at FPS' then you shouldn't have all the awesome gear someone who is really good at it has. It's the same reasoning that made Bungie decide not to allow players to trade with each other. It makes any accomplishment I make noticeable to anyone who looks at my gear. If you see me with an awesome rocket launcher or chest piece, you will have no doubt that I earned it.

  • Chances are very good that if placed against experienced solo players you would be the one to not survive. Hiding behind the skills of the rest of the team gives no one bragging rights. To say someone who plays solo is not skilled amounts to little more than belittling others to make yourself appear better. Collect the right solo players and then you will have a team of truly elite. This does not happen very much, but it can. There is no reason to say or even assume that matched teams can't find success in the very same battles fought by clans. " If you see me with an awesome rocket launcher or chest piece, you will have no doubt that I earned it." No. I will think you were on a team that helped you get it, not earn it. Now, if a bunch of solo players are skilled enough to come together with never having worked together before comes and wins that battle, then I will be of the opinion it was earned as individual effort was great enough to work with strangers. How does that sound to you? Believe me, it sounds no less insulting to hear someone say members of a matched team possess no skill or insufficient skill. You and your team mates memorize spawn locations and timing. You achieve success through repetition.
