I disagree and I don't agree with either side the way you are presenting it, I also think it is odd for you to take the side of less features that a good chunk of people want? I would counter that it is extremely selfish and entitled of you to think that everyone else doesn't deserve to take part in the end game content nor request that Bungle reconsider their opinion because they are adults with responsibilities. My biggest concern is coordination with my friends, we all have jobs, families and are not always available online at the same times. If I was 14 and my friends and I had no responsibilities I am sure we could all drop everything to swing some raids. It isn't realistic once you are an adult with a life though, I may be able to get 2-4 people online at the same time, but it is very rare that I ever have 6 people online at the same time that are available to do anything. I would just like to be able to take my group of 4 and slip in 2 additional people in a pinch so we can do some end game dungeons. I don't think that is asking to much, every other shooter and MMO has the ability to gather additional people when they need it. Why not include this here?

 • Do what other adult who want to experience end game do, form a clan, or join one. I work 60 to 70 hours a week and I will be doing raids, just get off your lazy ass, find people online(trust me, there's plenty) and start puttin into motion a group for raids. Its not that hard, no one is being selfish, people just want this shit handed to them.

 • Well that is an option and one I will consider but I will need to find one that is pretty damn flexible with zero time requirements as I can't promise that I will be online a certain time, certain days or a certain amount of times per week. The entire problem would be solved with a basic match making option added to the game for those who would like to use it.

 • I agree that it would be much easier to coordinate w/ say 3 friends instead of 5. Why not keep the know matchmaking but back off of the mandatory 6 friends requirement. If a smaller group of friends wants to attempt it knowing they're going to get destroyed, what's it hurt. No MM, no nerfing, no problems

 • A pretty good chunk of people don't want this feature as well.

 • That makes no logical sense at all, if you don't want to use a matchmaking option you don't have to and it has zero impact on your play experience. On the other hand for those of us that do want to use it, it solves a problem that they have and parties them up with other people looking for a party. The only reason why you or anyone could possibly not want the feature built into the game is to ruin someone elses gaming experience which I fail to understand? Care to elaborate?

There is more than enough to take your pick from

 • Fair enough but if you have no interest in defending your position why bother commenting on the first place. Either way have a great one!

 • Fine. Here's why raid matchmaking/proximity chat/splitscreen shouldn't be in the game. The direction Bungie is taking Destiny, in terms of social interaction, is one that fosters deeper connections between gamers. They don't want you to be able to talk to everyone at the same damn time (like proximity chat would enable). They want you to work together with your fire team, as evidenced by getting you to work to find raid teamates. People want six person parties for exploring. -blam!-ing six people??? Why? The game would be a cakewalk with six people all the time. The only challenge would be when there's a public event, and still not much of one when you've got six people. The reason they have three person fireteams, as they stated a long time ago, is so every person feels like they're an essential part of the team. Even with four people in a party (like Halo's spartan ops) you could breeze through a lot of the encounters. Working within your fire team. Finding and working with your raid teamates. Teamwork. Not just talking to 50 random people and never having to engage in any kind of teamwork or conversation. It isn't hard to see how they've been going in this direction at all. People don't want to really be social, they just want to talk to someone for two minutes and move on. That isn't being social, even if they say it is. It's just having everything they want handed to them on a silver platter. Bungie's vision is being social.

 • If you aren't willing to coordinate with 5 other people you won't make it past the first boss

 • I never suggested that I am unwilling to coordinate with 5 other people, I suggested it is difficult for some people (myself included) to be online with 5 of my friends at the same time. I find the hostility toward match making really strange as it has been in nearly every FPS in existence since the dawn of the FPS genre. Most MMO's include this option now a days because a ton of people want access to it, I see no negative for adding this in? Only a huge positive for the people who would benefit from it.

 • It is not all that hard, set aside as a group if it's doable for 10 then it's doable for 6. The reason for the hostility is because raid mm will water down the content

 • It is the fact that raid mm would water down the content. It is really not that hard, just set aside some time as a group .

 • ^^^ pretty much what he said, what comes from MM is bad random groups, who continuously wipe, dont work together, or communicate, you get kids who cant stay after a wipe or two, so your stuck with a group of 5 and locked into a raid no one is going to want to join. It can be extremely aggravating. Then people will complain about the raid difficulty for matchmaking and it will be nerfed for these people that dont put the time and effort into something that is going to require it like the more hardcore gamers. Raiding is not meant to be something you can just hop on and go do with people you've never played with before. I've done strikes (which is technically matchmaking) with randoms and it has been such a crutch playing with some of these guys. now, granted not everyone ive played with was bad on strikes, some in fact were as good if not better than me. But, most of the time it was some scrub, who would quit if we wiped on the first gauntlet.
