While I agree that Destiny, and xbox as a whole, needs more communication, I also understand why it dropped off in the last few years. I think a lot of people are just sick of 10 year olds swearing and acting like 90's hood rats, sick of people bullying people because they don't have a k/d of 10 to 1, sick of people blasting their music through the headset, and just sick of the rude people in general. The online forum, including gaming, has given people too much room to be an asshole without consequences. I used to love chatting with people and making new gaming friends, but now it's just to damn hard to do that.

Finally someone gets its. I think the OP has the right attitude but is coming at it from the wrong angle. His post should read, "Really excited about Destiny. Looking for cool players on XB1 to form group and forge great memories. Looking for like minded individuals, must have headset, not be a dick, and up for really good time. I play from x time to y time. My IGN is (fill in the blank), Come at me bro, if you are up for a good time gaming (or something that better captures his true gamer sensibilities )" People with like minds will flock to his post with their info or send him a friends request and slowly but surely his silence will grow to laughter and fun times . That's how it worked for me at least. Met a lot of good people that way, Best of all, I have managed to avoid the people who behave as you describe because most don't respond well to positivity. Plus there is nothing to troll when you are just being yourself and open to new players and new experiences
