Don't you dare try to say "All of the Above!" (even though I know some of you will). Tell us which archetype you think best defines you.
This is not an official UR study. It's just me being curious and stuff.

An exploring joker.

DeeJ, I've got a question that somebody at Bungie may be able to answer..... Or not..... Were there any additional challenges in making this game with ADS versus the halo series that didn't have it? It seems like a small tweak but it vastly changes the FPS experience. Just thought I'd ask.
-
Not really an option for it, but I like being the support guy in pve, picking off those irritating snipers, taking out the devil walker's plasma rocket launcher, crowd control, stuff like that. In the crucible, I'm more of a point man, being the one to take that first step around the corner, so the guys behind me can drop some bodies. I like to think of it as "proactive ambush tactics."
-
I fall squarely into the dreamer category. A great story coupled with great gameplay will get me hooked on your universe and keep me coming back to learn more, to see more. Without a great story a game can still be fun but I won't become emotionally invested in it, I won't become passionate about the game. Once that emotional tie sets in I know I'm in for the long haul.
-
Explorer dreamer for sure. One thing is for sure I keep dreaming about destiny. 9/9 can't come soon enough.
-
I love a good story, but what keeps me coming back is the cool gear. That's what hooked me with CoD4. I want to unlock all of the attachments and perks, then all of the camouflages, and then the coveted golden guns.

Edited by Exiled_Geordie: 8/5/2014 9:11:34 PMWhat type of player are you Deej? C'mon, spill! Personally, I like to explore and wreck face. I prefer PvE and like it when yellow numbers pop out of bad guys when I shoot them.

Dreamer
-
I would have to say Dreamer and Explorer. I love a good story and deep lore, and amazing places to explore and discover. Deep lore keeps me dreaming and hoping to unlock the secrets that are out there, waiting to be rediscovered. Exploring keeps me wondering what else there is to see, and if anyone has been there before.
-
Explorer I guess. Of course exploring off the beaten path can be dangerous.

Edited by DEZARATH: 8/5/2014 9:07:12 PMI'm a horde mode player. I'm also solo wolf who heeds the howl, I'm that guy who runs back for you. I'm the guy who puts down cover fire and wants to hunt giant bosses. I'm the guy who will play firefight to no end. All I want is an stream of Monsters from Monster Hunter and Lost Planet. My Grenade launcher from Reach to have a baby with the Penta from Warframe and it's in my hands as I destroy endless waves of Ai all exponentially getting more difficult as it weeds out the jokers and team killers. As drives out the weak and unprepared. Till only the truly dedicated Horde Mode fighter is Left with their brothers and sisters. I'm so mad at you guys for no matchmaking in Raids. All it sounds like is big cluster -blam!- of campaign speed runs when this game hits December and everyone figures out the notes and beats of your Strikes and night falls . I don't want to race people to the end of a map. I want the Ai to corner us and make us bleed till those mics pop on. You got a chance to force Randoms to work together. Raid had that illusion. Now its cut off. You think I trust this place to make friends after the 2013 GDC family got ran out of here with Offtopic below. An army of alts and creative trolls at the ready? Without easier communication option in our regions this is going to be real issue and no matter how hard you make Strikes. They are going to master it so they don't have to talk. We need a infinite survival mode, a horde mode. Something that pays off at the third hour of fighting endless powerful waves that only the most elite and armored Gaurdian can survive to. An alternative for Raids and Matchmaking while not being tied to some exclusive clan mechanic. That will come in due time. Look how many videos popped up on how to get past the ??? In the beta. Imagine an endless survival mode where players are fighting to reach a certain time mark to open a door to new hour of enemies and loot drops. If you're not prepared you're not making it to hour two or three where the rare items drop. Please tell me there's a firefight, or a horde mode? Not all of us are social anymore. Your prior games and communities made sure of that.

A performer of course. Thought it'd have more votes. Not a Jack of all trades, but one that seeks to take on insurmountable tasks and learn from them. This does not just apply to games of course. Cheers.

Edited by Jem 7DZ: 8/5/2014 8:55:19 PMSeriously though, all of the above. If u had to decide, I'd be a Warrior. :-)
-
Edited by LifelessVoid: 8/5/2014 8:54:07 PMExplorer- I just cant resist hopping on a sparrow and touring the countryside. Those cliff faces and oceans are just too gorgeous.
-
Warriors come out and play, only thirteen percent come on I know there's more then that.
-
Tough choice between Explorer and Dreamer. I love a great story and for it to blow my mind. However, such discoveries should be explored and to learn about the world you are in. I chose Explorer. :)
-
I would say I'm the leader. I usually give out orders during PvP. Basic tactic stuff, but I'm always the first into battle and last to leave. Even though I do love to explore and dance, PvP made me really get into it with its unique play style. It adds some verticality to the basic horizontal play style of most shooters. Plus adding the supers makes it totally unpredictable, which really makes those "oh yeah!" Moments stand out

Edited by MeaNxMaN: 8/5/2014 8:52:09 PMWhat's your category Deej? (I'm a leader since that's the closest to lone wolf.)
-
All of the above ;)
-
I'm a warrior leader. My warrior friends and I will conquer all you can throw at us. It may take a very, very, very long time, but we will win no matter what. Headshotting other players into oblivion is fun and all, but we seek to challenge the machine, the all seeing eye with instantaneous reflexes trained to know what we will try to do before we do it. We will teach this machine the true definition of defeat.

Where the One Man Army ?
-
Explorer. The though of a vast frontier, untouched by humanity, makes me all warm and fuzzy. I have a friend who's a Joker though. Apparently you guys made the Marines in Halo too fun to kill and it's stuck with him.
-
I voted explorer but warrior was a close second. My first love is the adventure but I do love wrecking some faces in the Crucible.
-
Edited by Icarus: 8/5/2014 8:38:16 PMI've done enough PvE, PvP, dancing, and sparrow-collision-killing my friends to say I've dipped into each of the archetypes. I voted Explorer, but Dreamer is just as important; they should go hand in hand for what you're aiming to create. It's great to know who your audience is, but I'd rather see a experience playing to Bungie's strengths rather then a jack of all trades, master of none. However, I have full faith you can pull it off.

I'm an explorer, I love my games like Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, and Borderlands. All of these games offer a lot of exploration and options to do what you want, when you want to do it. No staying in the lines. It's amazing!

I think we, as human beings, are naturally explorers at heart.
