He does have valid points, when was the last time a game like destiny held you longer then a couple months. The way a game keeps me interested is the long journey of levelling up and gaining the best equipment, but once that is done i usually have no fun playing the game anymore. For example, halo 3 multiplayer had the 1-50rank system for a bunch of different playlists, i tried my hardest to become 50 in each and every playlist but after 3-4yrs of playing i only achieved a few, but it kept me interested for that many years. Second is skyrim, shit it was not even multiplayer but there was so much to explore and so many items to obtain. I only stopped playing that after i walked the entire skyrim map and explored every nook and cranny, levelling up most of my stats to the max and obtainingthe best weapons i could/wanted. If destiny could provide me with the same thing as both those games i could see myself playing for more then a few months. But then again i think about this game and i can see myself stopping once i achieve the highest rank with light involved and once i get the exotics i want, same with the crucible, there is no ranking system, so no competitive feel, so crucible will end up feeling just like another halo style mutiplayer, meaning ill be bored with it within a week.

Edited by Tyr-Thanatos: 8/5/2014 3:07:53 PMbut if you think about it..its basically true with every game ever made..eventually all games get boring, or a newer game comes out and so on. if i play a game and it a lot of fun to play for many many hours..then its worth the money...i can see putting 100+ hours into Destiny (hell, people put more time than that in the beta)..that would be well worth the money to me.

Yeh but the games lifespan of being entertaining is what really makes the game, who know destiny could be a 100+hr entertainment game or a 20+hr, only time will tell.

true, but, they will have multiple games the next 10 years, 3 or 4 i believe, with DLC between each game...this game has the potential, its up to bungie to do it the right way now
