Not saying that Destiny is bad, in fact, it's actually an alright game. But with MCC coming out, the Halo players will buy their Xbox ones, if they haven't already, and then, by the year later that Halo 5 gets released, Destiny will have lost much of its players.
People loved Halo 2 & 3. MCC will hold both of those games.

6 RepliesEdited by ROBERTO jh: 8/29/2014 5:20:51 AMTime will tell. Personally I feel that Destiny's PVP is cheap, hit detection sucks and six times out of 10 two people shooting each other would kill each other, there was no winner. It's not very competitive though I imagine the iron banner could be cool for pitting characters against each other. With that said the master chief collection simply has more content. One hundred multiplayer maps four games for the price of one a live-action short by Ridley Scott and the Halo five guardians beta which promises to bring Halo back to its original arena style multiplayer. At this point people saying that 343 industries going to continue running Halo into the ground and ruining it are just simply wrong. Technically, and this is something people always ignore, Bungie is the reason why Halo has fallen from grace. They started the trend of loadouts and unequal starts in Halo Reach. They left 343 industries with a franchise that had gone down a path that 343 probably felt obligated to continue on given the precedent that Bungie had established. To put it bluntly Halo five guardians PVP is going to be more competitive more fair and more balanced than Destiny's going to be. That alone gives Halo longevity that Destiny just doesn't have. Sure Bungie will continue to support Destiny with DLC releases. But in the long run constant releases of DLC and new content is harder to maintain than Halos simple formula of competitive arena style multiplayer. I don't think the Master chief collection Will really harm Destiny that much. But I don't think Destiny is really going to harm Halo that much. Halo is on the upturn. 343 industries have practically rebuilt themselves with a reworked team and established team and are working from the ground up this time on a new engine. 343 industries are going out of their way to bring Halo back to its arena style multiplayer and it's classic tradition. To any fan of the franchise that is an enticing proposition. And the MCC gives us a glimpse of that future. I for one will be getting and enjoying both Destiny and the Master chief collection.

9 RepliesEdited by JuanManArmy_Pro: 8/29/2014 4:23:39 AMThe destiny BETA killed it dude. Destiny is their most supported game yet and it's not even out yet. Just think about it, bungie ditched halo and left it with 343 for a reason. They wanna move on to something new, something even more amazing than halo was. If anyone can beat halo it's the company that made it the huge success that it is

Yeah more players are gonna be on PS4 than XBone and they cant even get halo. Oh and i'm an XBox player who just thinks Halo is an alright game and that Destiny is the freakin shit.
-
3 RepliesThe only loss will be on the XB servers. The PS users won't consider those players leaving as a loss.

MCC SUCKS! I ALREADY HAVE ALL THE HALOS! WHY WOULD I BUY THEM AGAIN!!!! I DONT GIVE A FU** IF ITS 1080p!! IVE ALREAY OLAYED THE GAME!!!!!!!!! I GET SO MAD TALKING ABOUT MCC
*beats head on wall*
Halo will probably pull some Xbox players away from Destiny for a little while, but most of the pre-orders are on Playstation consoles if I'm not mistaken, so I don't think it will really hurt it that bad.

The Jist of this thread: Destiny Supporters: Destiny is Bungies most supported game, Beta was HUGE success and is a multi-platform game (though idk why it's not on the PC) Halo supporters: Halo already has a huge and loyal player base, that isn't likely to switch to another franchise so easily. I can see both points, however, we can never know 'till release, right? After that, it's just pointless opinion arguments that can NEVER be won. Fresh start from Halo vs. COD though. Am I right? :)

9 RepliesDon't get me wrong, most Halo players will buy the Master Chief Collection (MCC), but Halo 5...really. Hell I don't even want the Beta for it. I mean has 343 industries not destroyed the Halo name enough. I mean dang, sorry. Damn, let Halo Rest In Peace. Halo was a great game, now it's reruns and horrible pushes at losing great add-ons that Bungie added in there past games. It a huge stab in the back to Halo and a huge stab in the back to players.

Wow so this thread is real...... I can't believe beings as intelligent as humans can even have these thoughts

1 ReplySorry, the world expects a different level of quality from fps shooters nowadays. The games need to incorporate mechanics that have been accepted with open arms (sprint, ads, customizable weapon loadouts, character progression) by the new era of FPS community. These are things that are to be expected in games now and for a company to simply remake an older successful game with some new graphics and maps is not enough to contend with games like Destiny and The Division. Halo 1-3 were amazing, revolutionary, and just plain fun, and for a time that was enough to keep players all over the world hooked. Now with the new consoles, gamers expect a different level of game when it comes to FPS games. Halo is dead, please don't ruin the memory of amazing trilogy by posting things like this.

I doubt it. Even the beta statistics for Destiny proved higher player counts than anything seen in a Halo title, plus Destiny is a multiplatform title. The Halo series itself needs to undergo some major overhauls to attract new fans, something I'm sure the MCC won't very well achieve. Halo 5 on the other hand, well, let's just say that after Halo 4, expectations for the series have shrunk considerably, but there's still some hope. Still, don't foresee Halo 5 making waves bigger than Destiny without a miracle. I will still convene the wise sages, for when the time comes.

I know I'll be getting it. May even make me completely forget about Destiny...
-
2 RepliesYeah but Halo MCC and 5 will be hurt by Destiny DLC and Destiny 2. Gamers are like buffalo, they migrate to where the grass grows. I am sure BloodBorne, MGSV and any other AAA title will have the same effect.
-
Not sure if troll, or pathetically stupid.
-
1 ReplyLol halo 5 is going to get hurt by MCC too. Who the hell would settle for another 343i title when Halo 2, CE, and Halo 3 are being brought back to the table?
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAH ok

3 RepliesEdited by SKTCHWLKR: 8/26/2014 4:43:20 PMLike many many players, I have an Xbox 360 and played and loved the Halo series. I then chose the PS4 because I felt it's pros out weigh the pros of Xbox1, which includes MCC and Halo 5. Therefore I chose Destiny over the future of Halo
-
It wont halo is an arcade shooter whilst destiny is a shared world rpg shoot and loot.Halo fans are a small fraction of the community.
-
Edited by CeIestial Demon: 8/28/2014 2:27:29 AMthe only way i see this coming is if Destiny doesnt implement private lobbies or custom games and or chat options for crucible and pve.. if those two things are in the game, and those two things alone, the game will outlast halo
-
Ha ha not on ps4 :-)

19 RepliesCompletely right, some people still have taste. King of FPS games or a washy COD/Borderlands/Mass Effect merge? It's not that Destiny is terrible it's just poor in comparison, I will play Borderlands the pre-sequel. At least Gearbox know what they are doing with this sort of game. How come the only thing Bungie copied from Gearbox was the poor hit detection from Alien's: CM? Bungie also lied about the DLC, how much? Key dates: 10/10/14 & 11/11/15
King of FPS is Halo by the way.
-
Not the ps4 players there's so much of them so no one cares about your opinion on if destiny dies after halo 5 cause this game no matter what will last for a very long time on all plat forms
-
No one gives a -blam!- about a -blam!-en bs hd remake no one ever has or ever will eat shit and die
-
5 RepliesHalo 5 will have better PvP. There is no way that its PvP will feel as cheap as it is in Destiny. Sorry but its garbage.
-
17 RepliesHAHAHAHAHA!!! You really think Bungie's sloppy seconds will be better then their new game? That's a joke.
