Thralls scare the crap outta me. Probably due to that spooky mission where they jump on you. Was that the Dark Within?

Edited by Ferth: 8/2/2014 7:34:03 PMI learned something very interesting about thralls. They can't jump on to things. In the darkness within if you jump up on to any of the various machinery in the dark room where you first encounter them they all will run away and hide. That took a lot of their psychological bite away. Now they are my absolute favorite things to fight. You can mow them down with ease once you get over the "undead swarming out of dark holes" fear.

If anything they got in the way of me shooting their friends in the face.
-
3 RepliesI was only scared of thralls once, when I thought I'd give the hand cannon an honest try and played that same mission... Hand cannons suck lol
-
I wasn't scared by them. They're cool as -blam!- though. Then again, I was never scared of the Flood either.
-
The Flood scared me more on "343 Guilty Spark". That segment with Pvt. Jenkins only made that fear become that much more real, once I began reading the books. Still, the Thrall have yet to prove themselves. I look forward to it immensely... though this is a T-rated game.

1 ReplyThey're easy kills so, no... Unless they're higher level... That hidden cave in the grotto reminded me of I am Legend
-
At the beginning yes.
-
YES! well at first, before I had decent armor, and then more creeped out by Hive, but sine I can one shot an Acolyte and triple shot a Knight. Not so much now.
-
The way they look up close is like wow... Scary looking yes... Scare me? Not so much... There is a difference... Made the game a little tense? Yea but that just helps make the game play that much more fun!
-
Yea give are kinda scary funky and wierd
-
I will admit, I preferred fighting the Fallen to the Hive simply because I found the Hive creepier.

Edited by Nashtalia: 8/2/2014 5:50:31 PMalways the dark rooms that gets my paranoia to the high...my scanner helps to even bump it to the max. not until i see the acolytes' glowing green...it helps ease the tension a bit? the thralls' idle noise do creep me in a way o.0
-
I'm not really terrified, or scared of them, but when I look at their grotesque flaky armor I always go "eww....." and I feel my stomach lurch a bit.
-
1 ReplyI remember when I first sow them I was screaming firing my gun in all directions they scared the crap out of me the first time but not anymore
-
Cursed Thralls are a bit scarier.
-
Nope. However, they're probably terrified of my Shotgun.
-
I remember playing hard and I was level 2-3 when they were all level 6. That was fun.
-
Warlock Melee shield. Higher lvls are going to be more frustrating then the Flood (maybe not as frustrating as Flood on Legendary) I found a cave I could only run through that had 6-12 of them somewhere near the Forgotten shores I think it was.
-
Classic scary monsters that swarm out of the darkness! Makes me wish for the old Doom chainsaw. ^_^
-
Fusion rifles are your friends
-
2 Repliesdo you even shotgun bro?
-
The first time I saw them in that pitch black room they did and they killed me but when I went back I just flew onto the pillars so they couldn't reach, you do have jump down to lure them but then just jump back up
-
There was a very dark cave in the grottos filled with level 20 thrall. Now THAT'S scary.
-
YES! I thought I was the only one
-
2 RepliesI was pretty surprised to find myself getting easily overwhelmed by them on the Moon mission, I had to kite like crazy to kill them all while avoiding the Knight Boomers and such.
