• Technically asinus, asini is the second declention noun for ass, donkey. But anyway I am working on translating the exact phrase into exact english. As well as creating an exact new phrase that means "Don't Make Us Kick Your Ass" exactally however calx, calcis is a third declention noun meaing butt in terms of a beam which is similar to the Calcitrare found on the 2008 bungie pentathalon crest as well as the bungie motto, theme, catch phrse, remember semper ubi sub ubi

 •
Posted by: Yoozel
Posted by: Shishka NFNCVP. DMUKYA.
Yo Shish, go back and steal me one of those old T-Shirts!
True story: I remade the Japanese "Marathon for the Mac" shirt a year or two back for Bungie, but never got one for myself. =\ I DO have a DMUKYA shirt, though I had that before I worked at Bungie.

 • Ive got 4 years of Latin yet I barely remember those words. Nobis is just "us" or I beleive "to us" or "for us" in different forms. In this case it's just "us" "don't make us..." Facio is the root of "facete" that Bungie used. Facete is...gosh, been a while,...imperative or something of the like. tense.Vestrum=your. Latin was too boring to pay much attention to...
Posted by: Xx Short Bus xX Beautiful, I googled and saw it as a quote on a ComicCon message board in 2003. I went to a latin-english dictionary, and forgetting everything I learned in 4 years of latin studied over 10 years ago I feigned an attempt and was completely unsuccessful... but..... I did find this # nobis : (abl.) us /there'll be no one as happy as US. # nobis : (dat.) us /the world belongs to US. nice.... there may be more to it, need a latin savvy individual...
[Edited on 01.24.2008 6:48 PM PST]

 • Ha, oh, I have not read this in a long time. I think it was first posted on the Seventh Column site a few years back; but I don't remember for sure. Anyway, translated it says 'Don't make us kick your ass'.
