The Hand Cannon was originally a secondary weapon, bungie changed this. Do you think it should be switched back to a secondary backup weapon?
Check this video at 5:20-:30 to see proof it was originally a secondary backup. http://youtu.be/clSwodMBy6A

Edited by FUS10NxART: 8/4/2014 8:09:03 PMPrimary! More variations to play in PvP. In special slot it would be too easy. No ammo for primary anymore, and the enemy is on 5% health? Np fast switching to Hand Cannon and give the rest, far too easy. No thx!

2 RepliesThey should make it a secondary. Upping the power to make it a mid range alternative to shotty and sniper.

Check this video out it analyzes the hand cannon.

1 ReplyEdited by Dan J Huls: 8/3/2014 8:37:27 PMIt's yet to be worth much. Decent ammo supply, slow reload, 4-6 clip, ok damage but clip and reload make it less balance, however it does stagger enemies more than others, so used in conjunction with melee attacks it might shine better than a shotgun, especially with 150 rounds +. Or Maybe everyone should have one that appears after you use up all your other ammo like a last backup but with only 2 or 3 clips until tou get more primary :P After thinking about it, I want to give it another go now, at least you can switch primaries without losing ammo, it's just converted into a percentage for the next.

You need to watch the video, everyone is acting like Im talking about taking special slot or something. I am not, it use to be a sidearm- that is what I'm talking about!

1 ReplyEdited by Hollywoodtragedy018: 8/3/2014 5:18:50 AMYou guys have to realize what's the point of have the hand cannon in special slot it would be super outclassed by the fusion rifle cause they both fit the cat. Close to med range but the fusion can one shot you with out aiming Scout long range Pulse med to long Hand cannon close to med Auto close Snipers long Shotgun close Fusion med Rockets immediate Machine gun over time That's how your primarys are supossed to be catergized branchings out of those is just the specific weapon your using with it abilities and the skill of the player Gotta look at the bigger picture of where these weapons stand as a whole

There is no secondary slot, it's a SPECIAL slot. Hand cannons are not specialised enough and therefore do not belong in that slot.

Primary, its a fun gun to master and rewards accuracy in a satisfying manor, plus like the playtesters I agree it feels more fun and badass to kill enemies with a revolver, then having it play 2nd fiddle like any other dime a dozen fps.
-
2 RepliesYou could give it is own class. Just have it on your belt and give it infinity ammo for when your other main guns run out of ammo
-
The HC is a niche weapon, it would be good if it can be dual-wielded. Increase the damage. Increase reload times Keep ADS
-
No. It's fine as a primary.

Edited by TnT Recks: 8/3/2014 5:10:58 AMDidn't most of use consider a Sniper in the Halo franchise a Power Weapon.. Why is no one questioning why they changed that? I like it as a Special cause I get to snipe more.. But why'd they change it? Why'd they change where the Hand Cannons were? Seriously Bungie, Why you do dis? Makes no sense to me. Did they just want to appeal to the the crowd more. If so.. Bungie why you copping out?

Secondary.
-
I would actually use it if it was special
-
3 RepliesIt's underpowered regardless. I wouldn't trade out my shotgun, sniper, or fusion rifle for that thing. Maybe a beefed up exotic or legendary would make for a good primary. But the common and uncommon ones are no good IMO

Secondary

2 RepliesDual wield cannons!
-
2 Repliespersonally would it really change how often you use it? would you use it over a shotty or sniper rifle as a secondary? not being a dick as I come off that way soemtimes. jsut a question. as most people think its underpowered. yet I had no issues with it. especially after getting chains of woe for increased reload speed. I was jsut as effective with it as I am with my current scout rifle. only reason I quit using them is I wanted to have all green stuff by end of beta, and I jsut couldn't find a green hand cannon.
-
Primary, because it would use way to much special ammo as a special weapon.
-
Wow so much has changed since this vid. Hand cannons, the way the radar works, the upgrade screen for weapons... Also I've never seen anyone drop down from their ship like Jason Jones does in the vid.
-
1 ReplyThere's nothing "backup" about a gun larger than your forearm. I'd love to see someone try to sling that thing out of a holster and wield it like an ordinary handgun. There's a reason they're called hand "cannons". It's a primary weapon without a doubt.

2 RepliesEdited by Lawlzor96: 8/3/2014 4:16:06 AMHand cannons don't have a purpose as special weapons. Special weapons are all weapons that excel in one specific realm of combat. Hand cannons do not excel in any one specific realm of combat in comparison to short range shotguns or long range snipers. All primaries can serve all around purpose, like the hand cannon does. It needs to be on par with other primaries though, which is the problem. Also, this isn't an average FPS. Secondary slots, like for pistols, don't exist. It's just special. All weapon slots have equal amounts of usefulness in Destiny.
-
I think they should make it a secondary and add regular pistols as a primary weapon. Regular pistols would have 1/3 more ammo than the cannons currently with better rate of fire. The hand cannon would take a hit to ammo capacity, but gain impact. In theory, I believe it could be made more relevant by enabling it to stagger and screw with others' aim more often.

4 RepliesPrimary don't want to be stuck with a rifle as a primary or have to give up my shot gun as my secondary.
-
buff it and make it primary. i like goin in clint eastwood style
