Atlus as a publisher: they take the best games from Japan's smaller gaming companies and bring them to the US, while shady because they rarely give credit to the original company, it is thoroughly enjoyable for the player.
Bungie: While I've only been an off and on fan of the Halo Series, Their games have always pulled through
Bethesda as a Developer: They have published/produced a ton of shitty games but their development team is great, aside from the fact that they have been catering to casual gamers who can't take responsibility for their own stupid actions in video games. That's why nothing you do in skyrim or oblivion will have a negative impact on the game. Also, they totally butchered the canon in Fallout 3. okay so I guess they did let me down...
Bioware: WAS dependable until Casey Hudson's hubris got in the way and he single-handedly ruined Mass Effect 3. If you didn't know, he wrote the ending to ME3 by himself and cut the other writers out of it's development.
From Software: They Brought us Armored Core, Demon Souls, and Dark Souls. Just saying...
Natsume as a Developer: their publishing may be hit or miss but their developing is awesome. Harvest moon Series is all i'm saying...
Naughty Dog: No Explanation Needed
Obsidian (aka Troika, aka Black Isle, aka The development team of Interplay that created Fallout 1):
while they have extremely bad luck and publishers tend to give them swirlies and screw them over on a constant basis. Obsidian is one of the greatest game developers in history. They brought us Fallout 1 (not formally separated from interplay at this point), Fallout 2 (known as Black Isle), Arcanum (known as Troika after the split from interplay, also never heard of Arcanum? your loss...), KoToR II, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas, and South Park: the stick of truth.
Rockstar: While I'm not a big fan of most of their games, they have always been top notch.
Valve: While I actually don't like most of their games, they have all been fine quality and enjoyable. The Portal Series was amazing.
