Lol fail logic, how can you argue about longevity but can´t seem to add enough friends into your list in all that time? I can´t even find 2 good people with a friend when we play Cod Zombie maps for high rounds (which requires no gear at all, not stats. Only teamwork) and I may get 2 good people out of 20 MM´s Raids are for a true team. Not strangers. Hit the forums if you could´t find 5 people online in your list after hours of playing to lvl 20. .

Making friends throughout the lifespan of the game is not an issue here, at least for me. The problem is that Bungie are defining who I should raid with based on some strange definition of 'friend'. 'Friend' is not 'cooperation' and 'investment' in a game. 'Friend' is 'friend'. 'Cooperation' and 'investment' are characteristics that an individual may adopt if they so choose. It doesn't matter whether I call them 'friend' or 'clan-member' or 'stranger' or even 'enemy'; it doesn't change the fact. If that individual wants to be 'cooperational' and 'invested' in the game, that is their choice. And is not defined by somebody else's status placed upon them. If you already have friends you'd like to play with in mind, then play with them. If you don't like the experience of matchmaking then don't use matchmaking, but some people don't mind those risks.
Raids are for a true team. Not strangers.
What is a true team exactly? A true team to me is a team built up of individuals who equally enjoy the game, who equally invest in the game, and who play happily with anybody who feels the same way, in the name of passion for the game and accepting the challenge that the game presents; together. And it doesn't matter if somebody is a 'stranger' or a 'friend'. A skilled player is a skilled player whether I call them 'friend' or not. A 'cooperative' player is a cooperative' player whether I can them a 'friend' or not. 'An 'invested' player is an invested player whether I call them a 'friend' or not.
Hit the forums if you could´t find 5 people online in your list after hours of playing to lvl 20. .
Who do you think you'd be joining up with on the forums? It would be the same play you'd be matchmaking with in-game. People in forums are the people in-game. It's the same as matchmaking. And the method by which you 'meet' them is no determination of their 'skill'.

 • But you won´t build a community with strangers. If you take the time to look for people and do stuff successful with them it will become a different experience. That is what bungie is trying here. Sometimes people don´t know what they want until they have experienced it. Trust bungie with that one. They have experience. And if too many complain it will be patched anyway. But if they add match making. Alot of people would use it out of convenience. People are exactly that lazy. Please leave raids alone. It has to be something special. At least wait a little bit with the pushback on the no MM.

 • True, but think about the other half of it. IF you limit it to the other side of things what happens? Typically a team fills up and there are no more vacancies left. Which means some people get left out. People with the "Investment" to play a raid are going to get left out, over reason that have nothing to do with their ability to dedicate the time or skill needed to take it on. I'll just say this one last thing. In Guild Wars, There was ALOT of PVP options available. You know what I was stuck to playing? Random Arena. You know why? Because Elitest -blam!-tards always wanted you to fit a specific requirement for their groups. They'd want you to be a very specific rank. And yet, if you never get a chance to play those matches, you can never rank up... so ultimately, because of the elitism, that happened, some players never were presented the opportunity to rank up to qualify to be in a group. So, you an join some nameless clan out there in the hopes that one day they might be able to take you to those arenas, but there is no gaurantee to that either. The clan you joined could just as easily turn into a bunch of players who quit the game 2 months in as they are likely to take you to the "Raids" you so desperately seek to play. It all translates into a huge waste of time for players. In My opinion. Failing at an attempt is not a waste of time. Not being able to play something, when I want to play it, Is a waste of time, when you consider the amount of waiting and investment I have to put into it before I get to play it. And the investment you ask for is nothing special. Basically, I'm investing in the hope that the people I randomly added from the forum turn out to be any good. And if they are not, then what? You really going to try to teach them..... talk about a waste of my time. In My Opinion, gaming either comes naturally, or it doesn't. If I have to teach you, You are wasting my time. You've limited Lone Wolves like me to a path of joining a clan, getting married to it, teaching them how to play, etc. Which in a sense, makes the game boring for me... BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE PLAYING WITH THE SAME PEOPLE ALL THE DAMN TIME! I ACTUALLY LIKE PLAYING WITH RANDOMS!!!!!! OMG, YES PEOPLE LIKE ME EXIST!!!!

 • Then add random people when you lvl to 20. Or in the forums. Or from the tower whatever. The point it not matchmaking. The point is that people will demand nerfs for raid content because it will be almost impossible for a random group. RAIDS ARE SPECIAL. IF matchmaking then I want to have admin status, able to kick randoms from my group anytime I want. I´m an elitist I guess. I hate wasting my time with casuals or teens. So lol people hating on elitists but wanting to play with them so bad, yet refuse to adjust to the demands.
