What lazy design community, so you have a few introverts who don't want to go into party chat within the game space so the whole of Bungie Development team should suffer so these people don't have to lift their fingers to go and do what they have been doing for every other game. There is not a single thing that anyone could say that would explain this being fair, you basically penalized normal gamers to appease fat lazy people who you could have easily appeased with the ability to the standard party chat. If you do decide to add prox chat to the game as fat lazy people think you should, please make it as difficult as possible to get to so the lazy ones have to fight to find it and wonder if it was all worth it, if it is not difficult many lazy gamers will not know the struggle Bungie had to go through and put it into the game, since the beta and the social experience would work perfectly fine without it, however those who do use the standard party chat, will witness better patches made for the game, as Bungie didn't waste it's time on something pointless like "proximity chat".
FIX'D

 • What regular gamers are you talking about, people like to socialize and make new friends on online games, proxy chat would make this far easier, how is this difficult to understand? How does this hurt your experience? Party chat is great, but people you don't know don't want to join your party or fire team, having a conversation first may change that, like in real life your not just gonna invite some random person to your personal space, but most likely 100% of your real life friendships probably started with a conversation.

 • What gamers am I talking about? The ones that have survived perfectly fine on consoles all this time without proximity chat. How does it hurt my experience? They would have to spend so much time implementing this into the game, they would have to stop working on other parts of the game, which could then be broken by the release. How did I make friends? By action, not by conversation. Fight, parties, festivals, music. You can learn a lot about someone down to their actions, not by their mouth. People can lie by talking, but body language doesn't lie. So no, my friendship didn't start with conversation. And how would I do this in a game? What class they was. What guns they use. How they jump into a fire fight... It's not tough to read body language, even on a game.

 • What do you think they are doing with their time then? Sat at a screen scratching their balls?

 • And yet you didn't actually read the post otherwise (twice now) you would of seen that I have mentioned that Bungie working on proximity chat would be a waste of their time. So that's how it effects me and many other people.

 • There you go again Leonidas. I love that your so passionate about this sort of thing, you are a rare individual. You just gotta make sure people won't get offended by what your saying while also getting your point across forcefully. You can be passionate and polite at the same time. Just keep on doing this and you'll make sure people are kept interested. Keep on keepin' on.
