I was playing the Beta (PS4) on a 32" Vizio 1080p HDTV...and I suddenly realize how awesome it would be to play the Beta on the larger screen TV in the family room...um...it's a 55" Samsung...smart tv...awesome stuff...I forget the rest of the specs. Anyways...I hooked up my PS4 to this awesome TV...and it was just really hard to play. It's like my eyes couldn't focus on the tv? It was making me dizzy for some reason. Granted...I just got off from working the graveyard shift and I don't know if I was just tired...and that was it...but it was bothering my eyes to play Destiny on this 'larger' tv...I've played every other game on this tv...Watch Dogs...Tomb Raider...AC4...Thief...FFXIV...and others...never had a problem...but playing Destiny...it was the first time I wanted to go back to my smaller Vizio...playing Destiny on the smaller tv was just...better...for some reason. I'm not a PC gamer...only ever play console games...this is the first game...I've played that has bother my eyes playing on a larger TV...I don't know if the angle I was viewing the TV...was messing with me or the distance from the TV...
Has anyone else found this unbearable playing on a larger size television? Not a big deal...I'll probably give it another go...I might have just been exhausted from work or something.

Run it on ps4 55" myself. Check motion blur options or real motion I think. Try that it should help. Well try it when its 9/9. whoops
-
If you sit far enough it shouldn't be a problem, make sure you can see the whole TV Screen. I've played it on A 32" & a 42". I prefer smaller screens to help concentrate. But, that's just me.

try watching porn on a projector. you'll be motion sick in seconds

First world problems

Edited by AlbinoIceBear90: 7/30/2014 10:22:42 AMI have the same problem with CoD. Can't really play it on my 40“ Samsung. I'm terrible playing on the tv. When I switch to my 24“ desktop screen I have a faster reaction time and play better.
-
I had that problem when moving to a non hd 32inch to a hd 43inch takes time but u do ajust to it

1 ReplyThe biggest problem I had was being able to look at the radar and what was going on at the same time. When the game launches Ill be moving my ps4 to my 24" benq.

2 RepliesI can't play on larger TVs because the input lag is usually terrible on them.

2 RepliesEdited by xUndyingRealm: 7/30/2014 8:32:58 AMI play on the same TV my friend on a 55" inch LED SAMSUNG smart TV . I have to say that I don't have that problem . The problem is that you are playing slow paced games like AC4 , Thief etc . Destiny in other words is a fast paced bright game . All the lighting in Destiny are awesome but too much light can do too much damage if you are seeing it too much . Specially if you are a little tired from work . In PVP you would see a lot of lighting my friend with grenades , supers , and the environment of the game itself . Notice the fallen and enemies everything they shoot is light . Destiny is a game of light . If you know what I mean . Theres a lot of color texture and lighting in this game . Try lowering the brightness on your TV . Also try playing on 1 TV . Its bad gaming on 2 TVs back and forth . You are stressing your vision out by trying to force your eyes to contrast on 2 TVs . It causes confusion in your brain and dizzines .

1 ReplyIf you divide your vision into three equal sections from left to right, the middle section is about the size your screen should be for ideal game-play. to the left or right of that range, your reaction (if you are average) is slightly slower. Put your hands flat, fingers pointing upwards. Touch the forefinger of each hand to your temple. The flat, "pinky finger" side of your hand should be facing the TV, blocking your peripheral vision to some extent. If the edges of your screen are obscured by your fingers at all, then the screen images are greater than your stationary reference (ie: the room you are in, walls, etc) and this can become disconcerting. Try sitting so that slightly less than 1/3rd of your total vision is taken up by the screen.

Edited by cruentus: 7/30/2014 9:41:39 AMI play on a 50" sony bravia KDL 50w805b and the quality is absolutely stunning(no noticable input lag at all)! The problem that you have might be deu the fact that your eyes need some getting used to the quality / size of the tv. Or maybe you're just sitting to close to it

I play on a 46" and have no problems unless I get too close to the screen. Then I feel slightly dizzy. It has probably something to do with the FOV, I would recommend moving further back if you are playing on a large screen.
-
See I get something similar gone from a 26" LG to a 42" LG and while not a massive step up size wise I do find my eyes feel achier more tired or just out of focus more though drinking more water has helped a lot with the tiredness and aching I still get a bit of unfocused Ness at times
-
1 ReplyI have a 72,46,and 32in, in the family house, i never liked to play on the big one, 32 Vizo is what i played on for a long time till i got the 46, seems a lot better and clearer, lol i don't always think its the size, just the time period it was made and company, tv's really changed last 2 years.

Already have a sony bravia lcd 55 hd tv with a 2.5 surround sound . Its AWESOME......

I have that same kind of vizio.....

No I have a 50" HDTV and Destiny was gorgeous

I remember reading somewhere that smaller TVs were better for gaming. I have to say I agree. I play on a 26". Playing on the 60" in the living room was terrible, I didn't like the fact that my eyes weren't settled in the centre and able to take everything in without having to move my eyes. This could be a unique problem for me, because I'm partially sighted in my left eye and have close to no peripheral vision in it, which also effects my depth perception. Also, ever since I was young I've sat on a chair/bean bag no more than three/four feet from the TV when gaming, if I sit on the sofa I feel like I'm too far away to focus, even with a bigger screen. I'd hate to play Destiny on a massive screen, because even on a smaller one I found myself having to unsettle my focus from the centre of the screen to look at the motion sensor, which I feel could do with being just a little bigger. I didn't see an option to tighten the safe zone of the HUD, to bring everything a little closer to the centre, like in some games.

I have been playing on a 47" tv, but I have set it up in a good way and the room is alway lid up so I don't get the big light difference for my eyes aøø the tim, but I don't sit right in fron of it either so that helps too :)
-
Nope, can't say i have had that problem. I have a 55" Vizio LED smart tv. I kinda want another TV and if I go bigger I will only go to 60". But ya I love my tv.
-
No I play all my games on my 55in
-
You'll get used to it. When I first tried gaming on my 51" TV I also got dizzy. But not anymore. I actually want a bigger TV now.
