There should be a way to turn off invading jerks in single player mode!

So I've been playing the Beta and I finished all the story missions. There are things I like and things I don't care for so much. Chief among the things I don't care for are invading players while I play along. There I am, blasting my way through The Fallon on my mission to save the world when suddenly some jerk pops in and starts killing the baddies I was planning to kill and then some other jerks appear and start dancing like idiots. I turned off invites, but I couldn't find a way to stop strangers from invading my single player experience. I just want to be THE GUARDIAN who saves the world and it's kind of hard to believe that when strangers run around me claiming to be THE GUARDIAN as well. Am I missing something? We're allowed to play without our friends, but we're forced to play with strangers? That doesn't make any sense. If there's a way to turn this off please tell me. If there isn't, then Bungie needs to add the options for lone wolf players like me to be antisocial in peace. Anybody else feel this way? P.S. I also wish there was a real Pause button.

  • You are missing the fact that the whole point of destiny is the shared world experience where you can cross paths with other guardians at random, everyone going about their own thing. Three of the coolest experiences i had were a random dance party in the tower, grouping up with thus guy for a minute to enter a cave and deal with a few level 11 enemies before bowing to each other and heading our separate ways, and screwing with some people in the tower (they seemed to be having as much fun as I was, honestly. I don't want to give away the secret but it involved one of the roof tops). As for that one mission, that happened to me too once, but if you pay attention to the spawn locations you can kill enough of them to get your ghosts, and besides, you just got more XP because it think its shared between everyone participating in the fight. And I think a pause button, while it might be nice in the single player areas, is really unnecessary. There are PLENTY of safe areas weber you can hide and go off for a while. Areas between mob spawns, for example, and even some areas near mobs where they just wont attack you.
