(MSG for Deej) Warlocks glide has a serious bug

Hello bungie, thanks for allowing us to play the beta. The warlock is my favorite from the 3, but i noticed one thing off. When i activate the glide special jump, i notice the glide will automatically cancel itself causing me to drop instantly when i aim down the sights or whenever i hip fire. Im not sure if its like that on purpose or anything but it puts the warlock at an disadvantage. When my playing PVP on venus fire example when im rushing towards B and i jump and glide and i see an enemy i try to get the first shot but doing so causes my warlock to drop down below to self-destruct myself. Even in PVE while activating the glide when i try to shoot the fallen, that instant drop distorts my aiming, same in PVP. Can we see that fixed?

  • It's by design, my fellow Warlock. We can't focus on flying and shooting. They'd hate us for it if we could.

    • Exactly what DeeJ said and if you look into the Sunsinger subclass there is a glide perk that allows you to aim down sights while in mid air using glide, but it stops you in place and only lasts a short time.

    •
You just get used to the drop and plan your shots accordingly. Its actually really fun when you get the hang of it.
Precisely. It takes time and effort, but eventually you'll get the hang of it. It took me a while, but I played my warlock for over 25 hours, and by the time Beta ended I'm vastly better at situational awareness. That is, you can still aim and shoot while gliding, but need to also be aware of where you will land. It's an advantage and disadvantage for our class, and a unique skill. However, later on you can opt to use blink rather than glide. In any event, both are tactical at heart.

    • oh, and I forgot, I think it's the warlock sunsinger that has an ability that allows you to hover while shooting, so, ipso facto, the aim-drop is a permanent feature since there's an ability that cancels it.

      • I believe that's a feature, so that you're either flying, or shooting, not both. I played warlock mostly myself, but I'm pretty sure all classes have it, and lower accuracy in the air. it's just a way for bungie to prevent jump-snipers from having an unfair advantage, which is good, since I still do that just fine while dropping like a stone ;) just takes a bit more practice.
