If all classes get three different subclasses I think I will probably end up creating 9 characters so I can fully specialize them without changing subclasses all the time.
So:
- 3x Titans
- 3x Hunters
- 3x Warlocks
What do you guys think?

1 ReplyEdited by DeathByNINJA123: 8/5/2014 7:07:39 PMI'm fine with three. You can delete characters(I do believe), so worst case scenario, you get bored with one subclass and just replace it with another subclass. Three slots gives you enough to try out each class, tho I'll most likely be swapping out my Titan class for a second Hunter. Titans are for scrubs.

Since your character can switch out his sublcasses i'd say 3 characters is my needed number

I think all of you are missing the point. I want to have the option to make as many guardians as I like and not be bound to 3 character slots. For a game of this magnitude that would be silly. I will focus on three classes first, but still...only three isn't enough.
-
i only want 3 slots and i may not even use the other 2. it seems like everything else in this game that you will be able to change your subclass on the fly, im assuming the penalty would be all cooldowns reset, but from the way destiny has played out so far you will only need one guardian for each class.

2 RepliesBad poll, there should be an option for those of us that want it to stay at three.

2 RepliesEdited by oliverkeen77: 8/5/2014 2:38:34 PMI'm not voting on this broken poll. My answer is three.
-
Um just 3 SLOTS one for each class
-
6 is a nice number, it gives us the option to make 2 of each class and also slows us to fully explore each focus and lock each focus.

Over 9000

Three is enough.

3 is fine. During the beta I also noticed on companion app that on your character gear tab every option (selection) had 9 choices. What I mean is primary gun had 9 other choices, helmets, armor AND subclasses had 9 as well. I 100% believe you get 2 subclasses in this game and when you max one out and "lock it" it will give you a blank copy to level up in a different way and you could fill 9 spots with different variations of those 2 initial types. My theory is we will only get 2 types (arc, solar, or void) in this 1st Destiny game and in a sequel we can take (bring over) our characters into the sequel and open a new type up so we feel like we are leveling up in a new game without leaving any new players to the franchise behind. Warlock for example: Basically we have seen Voidwalker (void) and Sunsinger (solar) for this game and we will open both classes up and level them up allowing for multiple subclass variants for PvP and PvE. When Destiny 2 releases we will be able to take that character to new game and at some point (hopefully early) in the sequel the 3rd Type will open and we will start leveling up our Warlock in Arc type. This is just my guess. Maybe we will get all 3 in this game. We haven't seen any images for each character in that 3rd variant. And I have NO CLUE how they will address sequels and not make new players to the franchise feel hours behind.

9 would be good if you had to stick with one subclass, but you can just switch to whichever one you want to use, so 3 is fine. That's like having a different character for each type of weapon, unnecessary.
-
You only need 3.
-
Considering you can change sub classes, you really shouldn't need more then 3.
-
Edited by Satanic Mechanic: 8/5/2014 2:07:47 PMIt would be nice to have one for each subclass so either 6 or 9 at least
-
I want 3. Each subclass can be used on the same character. So you only need 1 of each class and you can switch between all the subclasses at will.
-
I'd like more than three in case someone I know what to level a character while I would already have 3 slots full ..
-
3 RepliesOne. Honestly, we dont need three. There should be one Guardian that has the ability to change classes. Having to start at the beginning from square one just to try the other classes is kind of a bummer. I know this isn't a problem for a lot of people, but I don't have time to keep up with 3 seperate characters. When you want to try a different class none of your shit carries over except the gear you have stored in your vault and your grimoire score. I think Bungie should have handeled this differently.

There is 3 different classes so 3 save spots will do me. I don't want too many saves to care for. I think less is best but only two leaves out the 3rd class and that's plane unfair.

13 RepliesAnything beyond 3 is unnecessary

You forgot 3. 3 is fine, they want you to invest in these guys, not use them as mules.
-
Personally, I just kinda want one extra, for the hell of it.
-
I would actually prefer only one character.
-
just one for me thanks im driving
-
I see no need for more then 3.
