Should the Tower be allowed to get invaded?
I think it would be cool if Hive tried to invade and everyone inside the tower gets there point of view changed to 1st Person and has too defend the tower. They can have this as a random event, would be fun to have at the tower. Bungie can even announce when it is going to happen, and that it is a one time event.

I had this idea while visiting the tower. Maybe they made some secret Easter egg, which once activated, spawns a super crazy boss type enemy that just destroys everyone. I thought that would be hilarious and fun. Probably not going to happen though.

No ppl need a safe place to spawn into but maybe another city that isn't protected by the traveler or defending the wall as an event would be cool.

I strongly believe that at some point in the Destiny canon-possibly in future content or a sequel-not only will The Tower be invaded, but The City as well, forcing all the Guardians to stand firm and protect the last light of humanity. IDK about you but that sounds like it would be an epic final battle to the Destiny story.

1 Replyif they can make it an extremely special even where they plan it out and announce it, that'd be really cool to be standing at the cryptarch then a fallen ship jumps in right next to the tower and all the guardians at the tower pull out there guns and fight, and everybody that's not in the tower receives an SOS signal from the tower to come back and help!

The tower is all about getting away from the action, buying gear and hanging out from your friends, doing this would break that and possibly make people angry.

6 RepliesIt just doesn't make sense in my opinion. If the traveler wasn't there, protecting our last city, then maybe. But the traveler being there is why it's the last safe city.

Oh please let them try, but it will end the same way it ended between me and a hive swarm on the moon. Lots of bodies and one Exo warlock dancing on top of all them.

Maybe an event where you have to defend sections of the wall that protects the city.

what I think would be awesome is if a Giant boss tried to attack the tower and everyone had to defeat it... kind of like Ark falls in Defiance

No for me - the tower is meant to be the place to GET AWAY FROM THE ACTION. It quote on quote from Bungie is "Players can rest and gear up to go back to battle".

No. The Tower serves as the "safe zone." A place for players to mingle and socialize, to buy and sell, to pick up quests and just hang out. Having it so it can be invaded, just turns it into another zone in the gameworld.

No, but it would be cool if there was a second 'hub city' we had to defend. One that wasn't protected by the traveller with like a broker NPC that would only work if they were protected in the last invasion?

No, the Tower is a place to go to purchase new gear and prepare for your next mission. Random events are for Explore and other PvE modes. Invasions on the Tower would be extremely stupid and a disappointment if Bungie decides to do it, even though they never would.
