Edited by Gabe: 7/28/2014 3:10:30 PMJust how you shouldn't expect the beta progress to carry over. I was hungry okay... And the analogy works! XP

I liked your post, but that is a pretty crappy analogy. =P
-
Thanks! I suppose it could be better....let me know if you think of a better analogy I may even edit it.

Hmm, I like analogies haha. I think a knife analogy could be useful: same knife dull vs sharpened trying to cut through [insert something here]. Gas mileage of a car with low air tires vs. optimal air level tires. Athlete who prepared vs. an athlete who didn't prepare. Battlefield 4.................... haha

Edited by Gabe: 7/29/2014 12:47:57 AMHmmm they're good analogies but the point of mine catered to the "its a beta" argument and how you should manage your expectations. The very definition of what it is basically dictates what it usually does and therefore your expectations of what it does. Its a very simple idea but people still don't seem to grasp it. Ice cream machine pours out ice cream not pizzas. Betas do all the stuff I mentioned and wipe the progress, not let you keep it.

I like this one: You can think of the Destiny Beta like you would think of test driving a car: you obviously don't get to keep the car simply because you test drove it, nor do you get to keep the "products" of your time in the Beta. The Beta was nothing but a test drive, for Bungie and for many of us.
-
but can't you buy the exact car after you test drive it? Lol
-
Yes, but that's beside the point. Maybe it would be better to change the language from "keep the car" and "keep the products" to "entitled to the car" or "entitled to the products." Actually, using the word "entitled" is sublime in this instance.

Ah, I was referring to the point of the beta itself, not people's expectations. Give me a moment.

Yeah I get your analogies. They make sense. Take your time XD
