I feel like this is just another instance of jibberish trolling. "Let's put this word salad of mumbo jumbo and throw in literary references and physics words and make it all cryptic. The forums will go crazy trying to figure this one out!"

Bungie is the master of hidden lore and easter eggs. The final easter egg in halo 3 was literally just found a month or 2 back. Never take a single bit of information for granted in Destiny because with the space they have to play with there will likely hidden tidbits in the tower, but nobody has "seen" it yet.

Edited by DARKSPARTAN: 7/28/2014 7:33:08 PMGAmadeus, while I understand where you are coming from, seeing as this is bungie, they have done many, many things like this before with Halo. There are so many biblical references in halo it isn't even funny. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_references_to_religion_in_Halo

Wow. I don't want to spoil any of the Halo stuff cause I am primarily a PS gamer and after seeing their efforts with the beta it honestly makes me want to go get an X1 and play through the Halo series. Anyway, it really felt like I was referencing some movie or shoe with the bible reference bit. Maybe it was a conversation I had with someone...

I cannot emphasize enough how you must try out the Halo series. You can also start off with the books if you really want some extra lore, there are quite a few. Halo was a truly memorable experience.

I'll get to it eventually. The reason I am primarily a PS gamer is cause I just want to focus on one ecosystem. I feel like I could miss out on lots of stuff if I'm just all over the place. Hell, I haven't even played any of the Uncharted games XD So many games to be played and not nearly as much time ... Destiny will keep me from making any progress for a very long time post release.

Edited by Nemesis Enforcer: 7/29/2014 12:39:09 AMMass Effect and Halo were my bread and butter on the xbox 360 but I always had my sights on a PS3. When Metal Gear came out I lost it and got a PS3. : ) I find that there will always be a console exclusive that I cannot resist, but finding the time to play all these games is a challenge.

While it's certainly technobabble, they at least put the effort into not only using real terms, but using them correctly (or at least ambiguously enough that they aren't entirely wrong). As far as cryptic references to particle physics goes, it's written pretty well (especially compared to a lot of other games).

"Throw in a bible reference that'll really throw them off" sorry haha I feel like this has happened before or I coulda sworn I heard this kind of thing from somewhere.....

well in the loading screen where you are in your ship doing one of the story missions it mentions sending the fallen back to hell, which threw me off a bit, and im not exactly sure this is what you were referring to but it just struck me as odd hearing about hell so far into the future where you would think religion we be almost completely gone or at least have evolved. Although people do turn to religion in times of of disparity.

Various religions have been around for thousands of years. The intro cinematic with the astronauts on mars says it takes place present day, and their gear (and rifle) support that fact. The Golden Age is said to have lasted for a few centuries. Then the Collapse is said to have lasted a few centuries as well. It's not unlikely that various religions survived all that, or new ones sprouted up using old concepts and old texts.

I think that perhaps he was trying to make a reference that the house those particular Fallen are from is The House of Devils.
