After taking a minute to scroll through some of these threads, I have found that so many are giving up on the game. Some even going as far to cancel their preorders. I ask, why? The beta was great! And to think that bungie (the ones who brought us Halo) are going to let us down when the full title releases is ignorant to say the least. If anything the beta has me excited for what the full game has to offer. I haven't lost my faith in bungie, does anyone else out there still believe?

You only hear from the squeaky wheels. Reddit's forums are a lot better - /r/destinythegame See you 9.9. We'll have a great time.
-
I was just surprised at how "dead" the game feels when you are exploring. The world just doesn't have that "it" factor to really immerse you. I am not really sure why I felt this way, but I did. It didn't really hook me in, like a game like Skyrim or Dark Souls did.
-
Because they're morons who don't understand what "Beta" means. They think it means "demo". It doesn't.
-
Meh. People say that because they are 12 years old and are stupid and have parents who are stupid and all their friends are also stupid and form run-on sentences like this one on a regular basis.
-
I was kind of bored with the campaign mode after the first day of beta.I was unsure if would like the game....and then Iplayed my first PvP match! Hooked for sure! It reminds me a lot of Unreal Tournament...a total blast! I love it!
-
I had more fun just screwing around in the tower than I've had with some other complete games. I'm in like Flynn. See you in September.

Most of the posts like those they were usually trolls.

Within 5 minutes of seeing the unboxing of the various editions I was already en route to GameStop to pay for the Xbox One ghost edition. Beta was a blast, whether we keep our stuff or not. This game is right up my alley and 9/9 can't come soon enough. See you starside guardians.

Thats how 99% of the people who played destiny felt. And of those posts, 100% trolls.

Edited by Cryzeteur: 7/28/2014 2:29:03 AMI am wondering if the maps in the real game all look the same. That was the only problem with the game. Felt like doing the same dungeon over and over. The gun control ... well mine kept getting stuck, either stuck and wouldn't fire or stuck and constant fire. Got killed lots because of that. It can't be the game controller can it? Brand new PS4. It felt like a server problem. Dropped data. So if they have better maps and scenery in the real game I will be happy. Needs internal view of ship instead of hovering outside. Would be nice if you could actually defend an area of space with an asteroid home or planet home in your space. Needs an overall purpose to keep interest.

Edited by Finerva: 7/28/2014 2:32:27 AM
After taking a minute to scroll through some of these threads, I have found that so many are giving up on the game.
Maybe I am blind, but I was thinking the opposite. Seems like there are not many players leaving after beta. Sure there's these strange, overly vocal commentators that keep posting over and over again: "Ok guys, I am for real cancelling my pre-order this time, I am done, I am leaving...*2 days later*...that moon mission was the last straw, I am so done..." But the collective community has responded strongly to these whambulance posters. The majority opinion seems very positive and even the most negative posters seem determined to stay. I always respond to them the same way, please do not play the final release, you've obviously put yourself through too much playing this free video game, you need some time to recover... Then they respond with "oh I was just venting, I will totally buy the full game..." They will do this the entire life of the game, its just a desperate cry for attention. Forums attract extremes, the most negative and the most enthused. When the full game releases I am hoping Bungie makes a Gameplay section of the forum and maybe the existentialist complaint threads can stay in general discussion.

I think the game will be insanely disappointing BUT im still getting it because 2014 is shit for gaming and there's nothing else that interest me but DA3 for this game
-
i -blam!-ing loved and to think it was only a beta
-
I was not excited at all about the game until this beta and now I can't freak in wait!!!
-
I loved it. Couldn't put the controller down! My fiancé would be the only person happy that the beta is now over.
-
I loved it so much and hell mouth was beast even though mars will be better! Can't wait until release
-
You will see me in the tower on the 9th guardian

I believe but you can pick a lot of reasons as to why so many are now disgruntled. 1. Upset Xbox 360 & Xbox One players 2. Characters being wiped 3. Balancing issues 4. The rumor of one zone per planet 5. It's not what they expected
-
They were expecting too much but it's a beta sooo there'll be way morw
-
I am not going to worry because after seeing a peek of some of the armors for the secondary classes I just stopped worrying about the Beta and now I can't wait for the real deal in September.
-
Considering I enjoyed the Beta more than any of my other games... yes. I believe.

I'm on the fence, it seemed fun as hell but not as epic and groundbreaking as all the promotional material and magazine articles would lead you to believe. It looks like it'll be a really good game when the final version releases but there are a few things that are keeping me from buying in. Probably the most annoying is the console exclusivity crap, I'm crazy, I collect things in my games, I always want 100% of the in-game content and I'll go out of my way to make sure I get the full package with every game I buy. The limited items on Playstation over my preferred plastic game playing square annoys the shit out of me, sure I'll get that content in a year but I don't really feel like supporting console exclusivity bullshit. I hate it when any platform is caught up in a game of favoritism no matter if its Microsoft of Sony doing the dirty with a seedy developer. That and the prospect of limited time in-game exclusive events turns me off too. If I have to go to work, or god forbid have some family emergency I have to miss out on some limited time offer and get the short end of the stick. Sure you might think those are petty points but as a collector, they're big enough to warrant saving the $100 for a game that's more straight forward with its content. As far as issues with the game itself, I didn't really care for the PvP at all. I found myself raging harder than a ten year old playing Call of Duty when I get on a massive killstreak and I'm feeling high on the game only to be insta-killed by some lame supermove that obliterates everything in the area, regardless of who had the advantage. I don't think people would have liked it if Halo had an instant energy wave attack that just wiped out everyone with the press of two buttons. The rest of the game seemed solid, pretty fun to play and its really hard to form an opinion on just the small piece of the game that the beta offered so I have to reserve those judgements until I decide if the game is right for me. Overall I had fun though, I just expected things to be a little different. I have Halo and I have Borderlands, this game felt like a little bit too much borrowed from both.

Edited by Jay: 7/28/2014 2:59:08 AMI'm sure the problem is that people expected way too much.
-
I completely agree!! I mean, why would you give up that quick! A) it's a beta so it's a pipsqueak of a fart of what the game is going to be B) it's bungie people!! They are the best (next to gearbox but hey)
-
I believe! Well said!
