I still believe. Does anyone else?

After taking a minute to scroll through some of these threads, I have found that so many are giving up on the game. Some even going as far to cancel their preorders. I ask, why? The beta was great! And to think that bungie (the ones who brought us Halo) are going to let us down when the full title releases is ignorant to say the least. If anything the beta has me excited for what the full game has to offer. I haven't lost my faith in bungie, does anyone else out there still believe?

  • I "missed the boat" on the Halo franchise. I may go back and play the reissues, but dunno... I knew that I was NOT gonna miss Bungie's next great project. And, after playing the beta, I remain confident that it's still a great project! Looking forward to the full version.

    • I haven't seen any of these threads. Why are people losing hope? It matters not, I had a blast with the beta, so I'm 99.9% sure I'll have a ton of fun with the full game ;) See you all on Monday.. well.. Some of you on Monday. ;)

    • Welcome to any game forum look at bioware EA ubisoft microsoft or sony. any of them most threads are about how they hate the game and that company/designers/publisher is going down and that they are not buying any more of there products or games blah blah blah If you enjoy the game that's what counts. The day a game becomes more work then fun it stops being a game. So if you like Destiny play it on any console you want and tell the complains to deal with it.

Don't worry about it. This forum will give you a misrepresentation of the fanbase. The vocal people with only complaints are a minority. It's just that people who actually love Destiny don't post complaints constantly. This game will have a thriving base of players who love Destiny. I loved Halo, but Destiny is like ... everything about Halo, but bigger and better. Literally the only game I'm looking forward to. Plus, Bungie has the game design experience and talent to know how to make Destiny. The ridiculous barrage of complaints from this forum is not going to affect how they finish Destiny. Bungie knows what they're doing.

    • I have faith and am pumped for the game.. but this time around, you have to understand, its going to be completely different. Most of the community was built around halo 2-3 and reach. this game is a new ip, its not based around multiplayer or customization of playing (if that makes sense). Bungies story lines have always been good, but they were never the main focus of the games as they are pushed to be now. Destiny wont have custom lobbies at launch, which makes it so hard for the community to take hold of the game and create things that develop fun and casual ways to play the game (zombies! Hide and Seek, races, only snipers/only rockets, ect) as well as the other end of the spectrum; hardcore styles( ranked MM, or MLG playlist styles.). They limit chat availability, making it hard to make friends like so many of us did back in halo 2-3 and makes it hard to feel like you are actually in a game that millions of players are playing. They have a new system and its not mmo nor competitive fps and people used those types of games (WoW, Guild Wars, Halo, CoD) who love those aspects of those games might feel that Destiny wont have the aspects that they love and are devoted to to the extent that they are used to (these aspects are Raids, Competitive/Ranked MM, communication/cooperation) and so I think many people are worried.. Not to mention, bungie has changed in small ways, but critical ones.. I just hope that they still care about all sides of the community and not just the middle of the bell curve they are looking at to make profits. When we look back on it, what made halo 2 actually probably the greatest bungie game? it wasnt the graphics, it wasnt the story, it wasnt even the fact that it was the first online fps on the xbox.. I love the dynamics of it, the problems with it even.. the fact that there were ranks and this hierarchy in the community gave people on the low end a sense of ambition and wonder and the people on the high end a sense of power and recognition. the glitches were seen as "problems" when the community seen them as "skills" BXR, BXB, RRXYY.., rocket/sword glitch, sniper/sword glitch, warthog ghost glitch, SUPERBOUNCING, just everything added to the dynamics of the game and created a mysterious feel, like wondering what could happen next. those were the things that made the game interesting and enjoyable.. and even the people who complained about the ranks were obviously intrigued with them.. but games arent like that anymore and never will be.. they are getting more glitch-free and being more "limited" in a sense of what we can do as a community.

    • The people that say they are canceling their pre-order are trolling, ignore it. Everyone that is here saying negative things about the game are going to be playing. If they really hated the game and didn't want to play they would not be posting here.

    • Honestly I love Halo and Destiny has matched itself with my love for Halo, if not beating it. Bungie makes beautiful, amazing games and I was expecting a good game. In my opinion, that's what were getting. I love Destiny and I can't wait for September 9th to no life it.

    • I can't wait for this game. The only thing I didn't enjoy about the beta was it was too short! Would of loved to play more, this game will bring a lot of hype and I'm so excited. Can't wait to get back in the action and have some fun

    • Look, some people just can't stand the fact that they get beat in multiplayer, or maybe they think a weapon is too strong or whatever. Some people are just impossible to please

    • Why wouldn't I still believe. The game met...and exceeded...my expectations in every way possible. Bottomline, NOTHING you (or anyone else can do) will ever please EVERYone. ...and Bungie wasn't going to please everyone no matter how good they made this game. Some people just want a different kind of game than Bungie set out to make. They typically wanted more sandbox...less shooter. Some people just have unreasonable expectations....and so when those expecations weren't met, they walked away mad. These people are typically kids who just don't understand what it takes to put together an experience like Bungie has done here. Some people just have limited imaginations. They simply failed to see how SMALL a fraction of even Old Russia we were allowed to see in the beta. So they assume (foolishly) that "This is all there is??" Bottomline, Bungie has a MONSTER hit on their hands here. I'm not even a big FPS fan, and I"m already going through withdrawal pains...and not looking forward to going the next 6 weeks without being able to play. This game is going to be a HUGE time-sink for me.

      • This is what Mass Effect multi-player could and should have been. Yea a little close to HALO for my standards but with the co=op options as well as the PVP. I had NO intention of getting this game as FPS are difficult for me, but the Beta has sold me. Someone else canceled pre-order is mine for the taking.

        • The beta was great, and im still excited to get the full game. in fact i plan on going and finishing paying for it tomorrow. i am however leery, as is everyone else i bet, about how other companies have screwed us in the past. while bungie has never screwed their players, in fact they are one of the few companies that i and many others ive talked to feel actually care about their players, im trying to get rid of my hopes from all the hype and concepts for the game. because it IS going to be a good game, and i dont want to be upset if we dont get to go to the european dead zone, mumbai push, twilight zone, or old chicago in the real game. i really hope we do get multiple areas per planet (or at least on earth) in the real game. honestly the thing im most upset about is the deal activision cut with sony to give playstation players extra strikes and pvp maps for a year. and the hunters being favored in pvp with a ranged melee attack and the op golden gun edge, but i have faith bungie will balance that. The games going to be great, we all just need to remember not to let ourselves over hype it and have expectations no game could fulfill

        • I could have spent countless more hours doing the limited amount of content that the beta had, I plan on spending way too much time playing the full release, even if it is limited to 4 explorable zones. If people don't think there will be enough content and don't want to buy the game, that's their choice. I bet we'll see most of them September 10th anyway.

          • 80% of the people complaining will buy it anyway, they just want to whine and feel important.

          • Some people will never be happy and are just looking for a reason to hate. Unfortunately, I think people like you and I, who have been and still are excited about this absolutely epic game, have not been vocal enough in the forums. I, for one, have never really gotten this into a game before. I have never played a beta, I have never engaged in forums, and to be honest I was a little intimidated by the community at first. But when I began noticing posts like yours, and how positive the devs have remained in their reassurances of expectations and releases of new information, I realized that if we dont bother to speak up for how excited we are the forums just end up being one complaint column after another. This game is going to kick ass, and I for one am lamenting the 6 week wait until it comes out.

          • I... guess i want to belive in Bungie... I do not want to be fooled by them, but i want to give them some trust from me, they proved to be a great game developing company on the past, so i think they can keep us up with this game too.
