Remove exotic gear from cryptarch

This may prove to be unpopular with those who have been farming cryptarch but I believe it is necessary. Bungie made a big deal about exotic gear and how players would know you had to overcome a difficult challenge to acquire it. In my opinion, exotic gear should be exlusively the domain of raids, high level strikes, occasional pvp tournaments etc You shouldn't be able to just randomly get one. It defeats the purpose. Exotic loot will be the greatest incentive to play end-game content. But why would anyone want to hazard a 4 hour raid of high difficulty when they could acquire the prize with enough cryptarch grinding. Make the exotic gear difficult to obtain. Lock each piece of gear to a specific challenge. So if we see a player wielding Thunderlord we know he has completed a raid on Mars/won 300 crucible matches/finished all story missions. Make it worthwhile to enjoy the game to its fullest. Just my thoughts. Would love to hear what others think.

  • I prefer the random Loot drops the way they are. Givig everyone a chance to get the same loot seems a bit more fair...or base the drop chance rate off kinds of kills...so headshots and multi kills should give a better drop chance...I think headshots do make a difference because they are labeled as different kinds of kills and its known if you check the stats for a certain game style or mission...check if you dont believe me...they are called precission kills I think...and I tend to get a lot of them and get a lot more drops than most people ive done free roam with.

      • Maybe allow all types of gear from found engrams but not from bought engrams. If you have to fight/grind enemies to end up picking up engrams it's seems a bit more justified. Personally, I like that a stroke of luck could add more fun to the game. If I just randomly got an exotic, I would spend an hour or two to try it out.

        • I think the crptarch is altogether pointless.

          • I think this is a good idea and i am a casual gamer. I personally think grinding for gear that people are high end raiding to obtain is a really negative thing.

          • I agree, There's multiple ways of getting Legendary gear through farming means. (I.E. Vangard rep and things like that) Exotic gear should truly be special and be very hard to get. While this may not sit well with more casual players, but it's the same way with any MMO. No, I'm not saying that Destiny is an MMO, but the loot style is very similar. Any MMO that I've ever played had totally insane gear that was VERY difficult to get and only obtainable through completing the most difficult challenges.
