SIDE NOTE: First off, let me start by saying that I know that this tracker detects you even if you are standing still, but every time I see it I just think of Jen Taylor's voice calling it a "Motion Tracker" on the Pillar of Autumn (Halo reference).
Main Topic:
The tracker has to be eliminated from PvP. The original intention of this device was to eliminate camping since you knew where everyone is. The problem is that in theory it sounds great but in practice it actually PROMOTES camping.
Almost every single time I run to a flag marker that is currently being captured/neutralized by the enemy, I'm immediately gunned down once I can see the flag. Why? The enemy can see me on their tracker, and are practically firing their Auto Rifles before I even walk through the door way...there's no hope in heck that anyone can survive a barrage like that. Or I get sniped in the head the moment I appear since the enemy is waiting scoped in, knowing that I: a) am going to walthrough the doorway to the flag/zone and b) that I have to walkthrough eventually if I want to score some points.
Try coming back to defend Flag A on the Venus map when an enemy is capturing it if you don't believe me! Every player is crouched in a corner aiming at the door like it's Call of Duty!
PS. If the Hunter Blade Dancer is supposed to be stealthy and have cloaking, it's going to be useless with the tracker monitoring that Hunter 24/7.

Just be more careful: problem solved. Obviously any fire team that is organized will leave at least 1 player at a flag to guard it to help secure a lead. You not anticipating this person is your own mistake especially since crouching takes you off the motion sensor anyway, similar to halo. If you fail to anticipate your enemy, and play cautiously, that's your fault, not the motion sensors

1 ReplyI'm rather fond of the new tracker. Enemies know I'm there but not my exact position. I find this actually leads to people to let down their guard assuming that know my direction gives them an advantage. I've frequently used my titan, and the knowledge that they know I'm there, to pull overly eager enemies out to be killed by myself and a team mate further back. The tool itself isn't flawed, rather I believe you simply have yet to fully grasp its potential as a weapon in the crucible.

They should have a barebones gametype
-
1 ReplyThe tracker radar kinda promotes team work and moving in with a strategy. Should be tweeked some like maybe the seconds between intervals but it serves a good purpose
-
DOUBLE EDGED SWORD, period
-
4 RepliesDude it's a motion sensor...let that sink in.... Alright now if u have a slim lick of a mind or had a fun childhood then u played halo. You can crouch and not show up shocker!!
-
Invisible enemies do not show up on the tracker, at least the stealth fallen didn't.
-
The trackef requires sjill. I had nobproblem using it.
-
2 RepliesI like the motion tracker, but I believe that it would ruin bladedancer.
-
1 ReplyI do believe that talked about a playlist that wouldn't have the tracker in the HUD
-
You can see them as well so if you used strategy and maybe jumped around or strafed or chucked a grenade you would get the kills
-
6 RepliesAll you really did was just report your own fail at using the tracker. And I'm just another of the many others that I'm sure that have pointing it out. You should always expect the enemy knows your coming. And though it's hard to get use too, so can you (I'm always glancing at it) Then you may find you can confuse other players with the tracker especially with teammates.

Edited by InguinalSlayer: 7/29/2014 5:04:09 AMBe smart. Don't rush into doorways unless you have a plan. Or, press the fancy crouch button that takes you off the mini map, only blinking intermittently. Don't complain, learn to play please. Or, you know, convince the other team to not watch pertinent chokepoints. That might work.
-
5 RepliesThe radar is perfect, just stop sucking. You are complaining about being a hunter getting owned? Then play your class better! If you crouch they won't see you. Stalk prey, be sneaky. You aren't a titan so don't play like one. I just think people don't know how to use it properly.
-
I like the tracker. So you can't camp one ass spot all day and kill people repeatedly!
-
Yeah its a bit of a double-edged sword, but you can make it work for you in most cases. I have some techniques I like to use. For instance, in your example with the guy camping the control point, you just have to always think there is someone there that's scoped in on you. So when I get near the point one of the things I might do is go in "hot" or "guns ablazin' " by sliding as I enter his view and aiming toward the control point. Throws the guy off as he tries to track you through the scope.
-
3 RepliesWhen crouched, you only send out a signal with a 2-3 second interval.
-
This tracker they have is amazing in my oppinion. I love it.
-
Holy poo man I couldn't agree more!

5 RepliesEdited by Jangalang: 7/27/2014 10:38:04 PMLol "Every time I know there is a crowd of people on a flag, I run in and get shot!" So you want to be able to see them so you can capture the flag, but not let them see you so they can defend the flag? I guess that's fair. Here's a thought, wait back a little bit and pick them off once they leave the flag or just capture it once they all leave. God forbid people capture a flag while trying to protect themselves. If they were REAL players they would be jumping up and down firing wildly so everyone knows where they are and let people run in and shoot them. I mean, you just took their flag, the LEAST you can do is stand still and let them shoot you.
-
If they can see you I'm sure you can see them. The first 5 minutes of my first pvp match everyone in my fire team was able to comprehend the motion tracker. Even Johnny (our slowest member). Also, if you crouched (much like halo!!) you would not be on the motion tracker. This game has very similar competitive elements to halo. If you've never played halo or only played a handful of times I suggest you either try to go back and play, practice and learn the mechanics or you can stick to what ever game you're playing now and just forget about it. There was nothing wrong with the motion tracker. It was more of a sensor then a tracker.
-
Crouch. Don't run in if you think they are there. Play slower smart and suck less.
-
I wouldn't say it needs to be completely removed, but the distance it detects movement away from the player could be toned down a bit.
-
The idea that camping even needs to be eliminated is a care bear complaint. That type of complaining comes from people who simply can't handle even a low level of strategy. I have zero problems killing campers. Seeing the enemy constantly on the radar is and will always be easy mode. Drop that radar!!!
-
6 RepliesGrenades are helpful. Throw them at the campers to force them to move. And use team work (it would help if they fixed the chat system though for that... Hint hint Bungie). Hardly any camper will win when 2 people rush from two separate directions.
-
2 RepliesEdited by supacat: 10/14/2014 5:53:53 PMYou can't see the radar when you are looking down your sights. If someone is just sitting, scoped in, they are just camping and radar does not let them know when you are coming. Edit: after seeing the doctor nope auto rifle and the knucklehead radar hunter helmet, I retract my statement about not seeing the radar while scoped camping.
