Sniper Rifles to become Heavy Weapons
As it stands I'm perfectly fine with sniper rifles existing in the game. What I'm not "fine" with is being shot in the foot or leg scoped, or just a plain normal shot and the rifle going through my shield and one shotting me.
That seems like a significant problem that really should be address. I honestly feel like this game is going to become the SWTOR for next gen. Major hype that will not be lived up and irrelevant after the first 30-60 days due to the major imbalances that currently exist and the lack of basic functionality (how about being able to talk to your team without needing to have them invited to a firesquad?)

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I don't like how on the Moon Map I can't walk outside without getting destroyed. Yet, it's really useful on the Venus Map when you're picking people off on B flag. I think they shouldn't make it a heavy, but decrease the amount of ammo that spawns in every game.

Edited by Vahallen: 7/26/2014 9:07:00 AMNOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE IT ISN'T POSSIBLE TO PERFORM A ONE SHOT IF IT ISN'T AN HEADSHOT. If by any chance you have gone in the "Iron Banner" with crappy gear then yes it is possible,but it would be your fault,there is nothing wrong with the sniper rifle.

It's only 1 shot kill to the head.... They are way under powered to be heavy weapons

May as well make the shingen-c a heavy as well. Seriously though snipers are not heavy weapons. Heavy weapons are powerful machine guns and 1 shot rockets only plus they drop ammo after death and its a race for the ammo. Snipers need to be special only or you need to be more accurate to take them down.

1 ReplyThe sniper can only one shot you in the head. You're saying armor can be weak enough so that you can be one shot killed is doubtful because the only time stats are turned on is in the iron banner. I don't even think you can get a one shot kill to to leg with it even if someone has weak armor. The sniper rifle belongs in the special weapons because it fits the the long range speciality for that class. The other slots being filled by fusion rifles for mid range and shot guns for close range. [i]Git gud or git rekt.[/i]

No. Seriously. A sniper needs to stand still or move slowly to get a good shot. If you can't counter that, that sounds like a personal problem

While scoping a sniper you are completely vulnerable though so I think it evens out( you already have rocket launchers for that)

I have almost 1000 sniper kills and have never one shot anyone with full health and shield anywhere but in the head.

It's a sniper rifle! Please tell of one game that a sniper does not leave you damn near dead after being shot anywhere other than the head.
