Racism in Destiny
I see racism in Destiny. Particularly aimed towards the black characters in the game. There are very few of them, and most players would prefer a lighter skinned or female character. Is there a problem with a black ginger? Please provide some sort of incentive to promote diversity within the game. Also, where are the Asians? It's like they were completely excluded? I don't like being called the -N word- when I join FireTeams. I join because I feel I need support, but I guess I was wrong. People point and dance around me in the Tower, almost mocking my character, even though I am becoming a great Titan. Where's the equality in that?!

Edit 2: To clarify, all hurtful comments directed towards me originated from the XBOX community (XBOX One). I have yet to encounter such discrimination in the PlayStation community
Edit 3: Apparently fellow black members of the community have turned on me?! For what! Fighting for their rights? I'm simply standing up to oppressive forces and discriminatory language!

However, I feel as though my attempt at raising awareness and empowering the black community has backfired! Apparently they don't want to fight for their rights. They want to get over it. But it's NOT THAT EASY!

Edit 8: some of you are starting to bring in the CONSOLE WARS into this thread! I don't know how that permeated or has to do with anything, but I will say this, PlayStation has been nicer to me than XBOX
Edit 9: I've come to the conclusion that I was right. There is still racism in this game after playing some Iron Banner. The try-hards in my fireteam constantly criticized my playing. After going back to the tower, they harassed me and called my character names, even giving me the nickname - LiL Burnt-

3 Repliesit sucks but most people are just Racists. Plain and simple. And being able to bully someone behind the safety of a screen is much easier than going out into the street and doing it, mainly because they'd get chinned instantly. Which is what they deserve.

2 RepliesOk first off. I've met better people in the xbox one community then the PlayStation. All the ps fan boys do is talk about how much better they are and they system is. People on xbox in destiny are helpful and just want to make friends to play with. I love both systems but they have different player bases and I dont like how ps player like to dis other system. I dont talk about you beloved ps4 so stop taking about how bad us xbox player as so nasty. Every random person I've ran into across the xbox forums have been wonderfully helpfull and fun to play with. Just because its not a ps exclusive stop dogging the community of the other systems. We are happy to be able to play. Sorry about the rant, just tired of fellow xbox players getting dumped on became of the hand full of bad eggs. I look at us all the same just from my experience the ps community is more toxic

My titan is black like me. Has a buzz cut hairstyle and whatnot and no one ever called me any racial slurs. They usual complement me and tell me how manly my titan is.

Male: stated below Female: same as male counterpart, but perk is lessened. Bewbs act as floats enabling the ability to swim White: start with more money that other races. Enemies are less likely to attack white players do to their high standing. One time option to enable white trash sub race adding meth addiction, incest, and moonshine buffs Asian: better at melee, adds special flying dragon jump kick. Has calculator option Black: higher damage with hand cannons, holds hand cannons sideways. Ability to hijack in multiplayer. Middle eastern: higher damage with explosives, special is replaced with suicide bomb option Indian: special grenade replaced to summon spirit animal, ability to smoke peace pipe with enemies causing them to become non hostile for a short time Jewish: ability to haggle with NPC's, collect more money from dead enemies has greed multiplier multiplies glimmer pickups by level but decreases Health by 10% for each pick up. Ginger (demon): enemies are struck with fear in a short distance of ginger player character. Gingers have the special ability to kill any enemies in front of them by looking in their eyes, enemies souls are stolen to replenish player health Ginger (Irish): character takes significantly less damage, but sees double, screen is blurry, and character has inability to walk in a straight line due to constant intoxication

1 ReplyI'm black, so when I made my human Titan, I was pretty satisfied. Of course, I made him look like a normal black guy with the exception of the scar and blind eye marking. I did that just so he looks battle-hardened lol.
