Tried unplugging the xbox? You might end up having to delete/reinstall it :(

:( that would be terrible... I have already made it to lvl 8, and have found some pretty good gear... would uninstalling it lose my progression?

Nope you won't lose your progress, you'll just lose out on some playtime :)

so i literally just have to "play" for like 10 mins after 2pm on saturday to earn that? will it give me any notification that i have received it?

They'll probably release more details later on this evening but it could something like playing a game in a special playlist or heck it could just require you to play anything within the timefreame be it explore/strike/story/crucible.
