I see your point with the waypoints. However i don't think they should tag ghosts, loot, or enemies. Also, I like the current system if separate loot threads. All the drops are mine. I don't want to pick up a titan helmet if I am a hunter. Especially if I cannot even sell it or trade it. However i do like your whole idea regarding opening a chest from any direction. But they should add that once it's open you just need to be within a certain radius to collect like the heavy ammo in crucible hands out even if you don't open it.
