I think many will wonder why there is no trade system in Destiny,
others do not want have this feature at all.
So "Yes" for sharing loot or "No" or you "Do not care" for it?
It would be interesting what the mass do think about it.
So vote and write why you have chosen this answer.
I'm already looking forward to the results. :)
thanks & greetz

I completely agree with Bungie and stand behind their idea of "loot is earned not given or traded."

4 RepliesTrade option will lead to RMT and I don't want them screwing up Destiny

2 RepliesI think it will work if it's done right. The share/trade system in Dead Island works great and no one ever complains about it. You can trade with each other and give things to one another but if your not at the lvl to be able to use it then it just sits in your inventory until you get to that lvl. People say "you need to earn everything". Well I pretty much played the beta with the same friend every time I played. I never once found a green, upgradable auto rifle. He on the hand found a bunch. We did missions, strikes and the story multiple times. I more then earned one but because the loot is random I just never got one. If there was a trade system he could have very easily given one to me after we both "earned" our loot from something. Loot drops only come after you've done something to earn it. If I'm going to trade someone something than I've earned something and so have they. There should be no reason I should not be able to trade something with a friend or fire team member.

Edited by Gubzs: 7/30/2014 8:27:45 PMAnyone who says yes needs to think twice and recast their vote. This game is all about loot. If you start allowing trade, loot suddenly is no longer valuable. "Oh, you have a Legendary helmet? Pfft...you just bought it" "Wow, how did you get that awesome fusion rifle?" "Some guy gave it to me for 2000 glimmer" If you want to know what happens to games that are 'about loot' when free trade is allowed? Look at what Diablo III used to be. Drops don't matter anymore, all that matters is your money. Trade is awful in a game like this, it rewards the most boring and tedious types of players: farmers...while simultaneously the average player with a normal human attention span suffers because all of his treasure is now valued in 'time it takes to acquire'.

First of all, Thank you Poll for having the majority say no to trading and loot sharing. Second of all; To all those who want loot sharing and loot trading think about what you're asking for. What the addition of such functionality does is allow you to open an in game player to player market. As such to balance the game back out again the loot drops that are awesome, that come from grinding your way through the game become rarer and rarer to the point where in commons become as hard to find as rare items are now, common items will be twice as common, rare items will become as hard to find as legendary items and the only way without an incredible amount of luck to have a legendary weapon would be to purchase it yourself from a vendor. This isn't even to mention the abuse the system will receive with an in game player to player market and don't think it won't happen or can't happen because I can assure you there are people out in the world who would love to find a way just to see the game crash and burn. So think about what you're asking for because you can't pick a stick off the ground without picking up both ends.

19 RepliesEdited by NMStrou: 7/31/2014 10:49:45 AMI vote no, simply because it's a massive waste of time. there are -no- items I've ever heard of that you cannot get yourself. I get that some folks don't have limitless time to grind for the random rare drop, and it's frustrating to see your team mate using a grey when you have a green you'll never use. BUT: that being said, if you don't have that much time to play (come on, it took me two days to have all greens, once I picked my class) then having a better weapon isn't going to help, AND it strips you of whatever satisfaction you might have gotten from actually acquiring it yourself. edit: that came out harsher than I meant it to, sorry, but I stand by it. a few thoughts: lower level gear (adjusted by current level of both players and gear rarity) could be traded, while locking higher level gear, like was suggested below, just enough to trade out a grey, or level equivalent. I could certainly see a soldier handing a squad mate a better weapon off the ground, if they're wielding a stick, but not a legendary they spent months obtaining. even with that logic, I say no. I hate to be cruel abt it, but if you can't get it yourself, you're doing something wrong, and -that's- what needs fixed. trading items won't help. edits the second: I still stand by this. it's a shortcut for people who either can't (for reasons outside the game world) or won't earn/grind the items themselves. you're playing the game for them (and there are situations where that's okay). do whatever, lol, just keep it out of my instance please ;)

I agree with the trading but never glimmer
-
No, a key aspect is raiding and looting your own gear, it would ruin the games economy, exotics would be everywhere
-
I think there should be trading, but it should only be with friends and it should only be with white and green items. There should absolutely be no way to initiate trades while inspecting.
-
Sharing loot but only with folk in your friends list would be my suggestion
-
They said trading will be coming just not at launch.
-
No sharing.
-
I vote no, simply because Bungie wants us to bond with our gear and having a trade system negates this.

1 ReplyBungie has still spoken. Doctor Nope has arrived.
-
3 RepliesIn my opinion if they do enable 'trading' the game will come something similar to PC mmorpg's like RuneScape where a player can do all the hard work and another player that has done no work but has enough glimmer will be able to buy it off them. I think each player should have to work for their gear. Anyway that's just my opinion :)

1 ReplyI could understand a tiny fraction of trade if it were only between fireteams or a clan, but only for certain circumstances. .. (Friend needs a heavy weapon for this strike, loans him a heavy machinegun but only one that fits his level and requirements. Or there could be a clan vault that only a few members have access to, and it could be as an emergency cache. I'm not too bothered either way, but would probably keep it very restrictive, since the loot and your journey in the wild is unique. ..

1 ReplyI voted for sharing loot but Bungie needs to proceed with caution on it. Maybe they lock all rare and above guns to the player while uncommons and commons are tradable. That way, you could help your friend at a lower level with getting some decent guns so he/she is not dragging you back too much, but also give them the chance to feel the satisfaction of getting the rare loot themselves.

1 ReplyI really enjoyed borderlands, and that didn't necessarily have a trading system but you could drop items you wanted to give. And I feel like that worked out great
-
1 ReplyWhat do you even mean by sharing loot ? if you can drop or trade loot ... Sure... But if you mean shared drops then no ... I can't stand ninja looter and loot whores or Borderlands style first there get everything.
-
1 ReplyBungie has said before that they want special loot items to show that this player has been through this shit to get it, trading would ruin that, so I vote no. I could see trading with loot that's not legendary or exotic though.
-
4 RepliesIll say it again, a limit of trades per month. if bungie were cool they'd have interactions/activities and a market in old russia but doubtful. selling buying might be too extreme but gambling glimmer points and having limited trade would be cool. none of which will happen because game developers usually dont listen to anyone and they usually dont do anything that cool in games.
-
3 RepliesI voted no because all loot drops are specific to your character, meaning you never get drops for titan unless you play as titan, never get warlock gear unless you are warlock , the same I'd true for hunter, so what are you sharing? I even noticed that I would open chest with squad mates and they'd get something completely different than I would, we'd kill bosses and they would get an engram and I didn't and vice versa. Unlike borderlands this game drops loot that is intended for the player not just random items in a loot table. So I really don't understand why players are asking for shared loot if all loot is specific to your character.
-
Yes for sharing rare and lower loot.
-
1 ReplyI'd like the ability to trade/give stuff when it comes to loot sharing. In particular selling an item would be a better way to get rid of good items than deconstructing it for five glimmer and upgrade material.
-
Earn your loot, things don't come we for free
