I'm tiered of running games at 30 Fps. The few console games that run at 60 plays far better than those that run in 30.
Unlike what the publishers marketing divisions think this stuff matters, a lot! It matters more to me than a fancy- trailer, or images in a magazine. All this stuff about unity/equality between Xbox and Ps, old- and new-gen is just bullshit!
That is just as stupid as giving a Prius the gas mileage of a Viper, and the Viper the performance of a Prius. Because it has to be fair.
If the new hardware don't have the power to dish out 60 frames per second. Give me the option to lower the graphics in order to get the frame rate I want. It can be running at 720p and/or have lower quality textures. I don't mind. It will still look good, and will play even better. Thats more important than just looks in my opinion.

Better yet, why don't they just release a PC version so people like myself will actually be good at the game XD. I've been struggling to play with a controller and my gigantic TV. a 23 inch monitor and a nice smooth mouse on Ultra settings would be wonderful. Especially for this game. Maybe they'll do it at some point, and hopefully it wont just be some godawful port.

5 RepliesEdited by grimma_stormborn: 7/24/2014 10:56:23 AMI'm playing beta like crazy and not even once I thought -"oh man, that 30fps is horrible" Game is very fluid and responsive,.That whole 60 fps propaganda is pure bullshit
-
I don't care about 60 FPS. I only care about 3: Destiny, Halo and Half-Life.
see what I did there?
-
They said they wanted there to be parity between all the platforms so they could almost certainly get 60fps on the new consoles without having to sacrifice graphics at all. Even if it's just for PVP.

This game needs to be 60fps. It's a decent looking game. But nothing to brag about. 60 should be standard for shooters

12 RepliesEdited by Noobesque: 7/24/2014 5:41:40 AMYou do realize that the human eye makes little-to-no discernible difference when looking at motion above 30 FPS, right? That 30 FPS is the level at which our sight sees smooth motion, and anything under that is seen as problematic - stuttering, jagged, etc. So while it's great that games can reach 60 FPS, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to 'see' it any better. Personally, I'd rather more defined and detailed graphical quality, with a capped 30 FPS. I disagree with lowering graphics for the sake of pointless visual clarity that is mistakenly perceived, because someone can see their 'active FPS' in the top corner of their game screen. You also have to remember that there are more elements that just 'graphics' when it comes to decisions such as this. You have to consider the nature of the game, the elements at work on the screen, the background processes, and of course what the machine can handle - especially when multiple players are involved in a sparse open-world hub. For example: Uncharted 4 will be heavenly, and is said to be full HD 1080p, with 60 FPS. But, it is also a single player game. That's all well and good, though compared to Destiny, which requires seamless multiplayer integration, peer-to-server data caching, no loading screen transitions, numerous instances of AI reacting to multiple players across a broad area, multiple players interacting in an open-world setting and a functioning background menu system that connects it all... can you see how some games might not be able to justifiably get to the level you demand? I've played the Alpha. I've played the Beta. I enjoyed both, very much. I also thought the graphical clarity was sensational, and I had no issues whatsoever with the 30 FPS at 1080p.

I think after playing it at 1080p seeing it lower now would be hard. I would have preferred they prioritised 60fps though, you can definitely notice the 30fps as it's an FPS, not as twitch as COD but you can still tell. I've put yes, the option would be nice. But I think now I've got used to the sharp visuals I'm not sure I'd drop down.

6 RepliesShut the -blam!- up about damn FPS!
-
4 RepliesI bet you if they never advertised the 60 fps shit and said nothing about it, no one would a -blam!- and zero -blam!-s would be giving.
-
Yea I completely agree but it's probably waaaaaay to late for bungie to put that in now. I'd love to see them implement that into a future update.
-
He said option not for everyone

2 RepliesSorry, I tried with thread like this earlier and all I got was bashing from people that hate choice and good framerate for some reason. Also Bungie has apparently stated that 60fps is not important to them but that the experience on the ps3 and 4 should be identical even tho they lie since the framerate is the same but not the graphical fidelity. It is good to know that you invest in a new console when the developers hoped that we would never leave the last gen and do whatever it takes so that any advantage there is to a new console i quickly removed so that 7 year old hardware do not get sad and feel inferior.

4 RepliesEdited by nao: 7/24/2014 5:07:38 AM>Shared world shooter >Open world >Cross-gen It's not going to be 60fps. Period. End of story. Get over it. I really wish ignorant people would stop making these threads. This shit isn't magic. There are limitations. Name me one open world mmo, with 60fps, on consoles, that is cross-gen, and where every player has super powers and personal vehicles. Then you can have your 60fps Destiny. There is no standard of 60fps for this type of game, so stop acting like its something that is expected. /rant :P

There should be at least the option to cap the framerate at 30 fps and be uncapped for standart

8 RepliesEdited by Phunkr: 7/24/2014 5:16:11 AMLower fps doesn't make the game play worse, you're just bad at playing 30 fps games. I play it just fine and don't see a "diminished quality" compared to 60 fps shooters. It also makes everything in PvP fair across the board. A locked 30 plays much better than an unstable 60.
-
2 RepliesLol they should of just make the next gen versions as high quality as possible instead of trying to create console parity between the next gen and old gen. Like come on bungie don't bring next gen down.
-
Edited by maivus: 7/24/2014 5:09:20 AMwait..so you're telling me the game is on 30fps..im so drawn into destiny that "i dont care" what the fps is at :p
-
6 RepliesWell if you had a higher IQ you would know that the human eye can only see 30 fps. So you wont notice a damn thing.
-
2 Replies900p on xb1 beta looks just as good as ps4 1080p so we should all stay there and have 60fps
-
7 Replies30 fps is fine for me, but that's probably cause i'm not a spoiled COD fanboy like most of the kids complaining about 30fps. See, I grew up playing games like Doom, Half-Life, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem. I've learned to appreciate a well made game when I see one and not bitch and moan about the frame rates being "unbearably slow".
-
I didn't buy a PS4 to be chained to last generations standards. I want the best, other games can run at near 60 fps and 1080p on PS4, so can Destiny, and if we have to sacrifice a little graphical quality that's fine.
-
4 RepliesEdited by Squishie: 7/24/2014 3:14:37 AMHave you guys played Bioshock? They have a neat little option where you can toggle a locked 60fps in compromise for a chance of texture reduction. It doesn't even look that bad when it's on.
I played Bioshock on the X360 so I'm not as sure about the PS3
6 RepliesHell... I'm running WoW on 120FPS on PC, and can't believe the shity ass 30FPS on games like The last of us. It's a real turn off for me.
-
Well maybe it might not be possible at this point.
-
Wouldn't hurt to add it...

1 ReplyHere the thing, if you have a 1080p TV where's the 60 FPS so I actually care about FPS I have a 60in Sharp Aquos 240hz so I need the fps
