so many people judging the tiny beta as if its the full game.

this is what people said about ElderScrollsOnline... yeah that turned out to be shit just like the beta.

I'm sick of seeing these posts. Betas are not little slices of a game that are going to change drastically in one month. Betas help stress test servers. All this content is for the most part valid. The OP raises good points that are core cracks in the destiny formula.
-
You're right and wrong. Betas typically are a changing thing, with a month having massive changes in core gameplay. However, some companies are utilizing betas differently nowadays, more like hype-builders. This is the category Destiny falls into. But otherwise, you're right.
-
I agree with you. But. Betas never result in massive changes to the core game. Betas almost always come out a few months before release. Compared to the 3+ years Bungie developed this game, one month between the beta and release does not leave enough room for the type of core gameplay changes people are expecting. But otherwise, I agree.

Sorry, core gameplay was a very bad choice of words. What I meant to say was that they typically involve changes that shift the balances, sometimes heavily. Example: Star Craft 2. There was one month were the Zerg's Roach unit was changed a lot, and completely changed the race's play style. Awful wording on my part, and was that mockery at the end of your paragraph?
-
Ah, I remember that! Also with how they are rebalancing WoD with the current alpha/beta. No worries, I understand what you meant now. You're right, as far as balancing goes *cough* hunter *cough* it changes a lot during the beta. It was my fault for generalizing. I was directing this towards how everyone says "it's just a beta". This game is how it's going to be, story/core gameplay wise. Not at all, didn't mean for it to sound like such?
-
Who knows. I'm tired. And I've never been able to read text with the right inflections. And yeah. I'm actually liking the game a lot. And I'm bored with it, but the bored that comes because I'm having to do stuff other than the story. All I want is a new strike or combat area. It's astoundingly fun to play right now.

This isn't a Beta. It's a Demo. Beta's last 1 to two months, and over the course of their lifespan, things change up immensely. At the very most, this is what, 7 days? That's not enough time to gather enough concencus and tweak everything. This game by all means is basically done and there will be very little changed from this version to the final end product.
-
Well this is feedback for the beta, the beta is supposed to be a test and they have have asked for feedback on it. If you disagree with what I have said that is fine but you need to back up why you think that. Because if you don't neither I or Bungie are going to take you on your word without explanation.
so many people judging the tiny beta as if its the full game.
That's because the beta is no different than the alpha for how the game "works". That is NOT going to change in the final release. You will get plenty of maps to explore, guns, armor etc but all the maps will be just as lifeless as the alpha and the beta. Those mechanics are not changing. If you have ever participated in a beta, what you see for game play is what you get in the release with some tweaking here and there. This game is only a month and a couple of weeks away. So if you find the open world of Destiny lifeless now, you will find the same thing in the final product. If you enjoy the world of Destiny as it is now, you will enjoy it in the final product. It is good for folks to express what they see/get out of the game as it helps others to make decisions about their own purchases. This game is not for everyone.

We aren't bashing destiny. We are giving constructive criticism to help make the game better. That's the point of a beta
