People are thinking of this as a linear singular progression...
The level cap only gets you so far. You will have three classes to level to 20. Then you will have three subclasses per class to level up. Then you will have an endless supply of armor and guns to level up. On top of that they have already shown two expansions that will most likely raise the cap. On top of THAT they have introduced notes of light which allow you to level above 20.
I don't understand what the level cap issue is...

It's not motes of light that level you up it's the light stat on gear. If you want any proof or anything go find a seller that sells lvl 20 gear and look at the light stat. Motes of light is a currency to buy things from the traveler and the light stat increases effective level. 13 light per level

Nothing is wrong with it I think Bungie has a really good idea going with the leveling system.

1 ReplyThree subclasses? What do you mean?

If you don't get a visible xp increase per kill, life just isn't living for some people.

1 ReplyPeople in general are ignorant. They don't pay attention to other details. Their brain shuts off when they see lv. 20 cap.

who the hell cares, let them cry and QQ over their own assumption. They got no clue what they are talking about in the first place.

Me either dude. I'm glad the level cap is so low, it won't take long to start looking for gear. This has been Bungie's philosophy since Destiny was started to be mentioned. What I do love tho, is the sub classes, and the fact that gear, and weapons, even mid grade rare items, all the way through legendary, and exotic, will have skill trees of their own for you to work towards becoming legend. So yea, sure, we stop gaining ACTUAL levels and just continue to grow anyways. Anyone who doesn't recognize this, is a serious tard, and needs to actually pay attention to the details that are told to us. I have watched every ViDoc every interview and every single bit of game play, and read every weekly update. I know what I'm in for. =😎

5 RepliesThe cap will stay at 20, but there will be gear which will require special currency which will be better and better like an mmo. it'll say level 20 required, but in actuallity it's like level 50 gear
-
3 RepliesVideo on ign shows a level 28 hunter and level 29 Titan. Later they show the character screen and above defense it says light with a number, I believe sub classes level up too 20
-
1 ReplyI belive it is sort of like a prestige system. You keep your level but loose some stats and enter another perk tree.
-
2 RepliesPeople fear what they do not understand.

1 ReplyI think it's all fine, but does anyone know how far it will go after lvl with the motes of light?
-
2 RepliesWell said and how do we know that ranking up will be quick? For all we know it could take ages to go from 10-20.
-
If anybody here ever played Digimon world 4, please pray that the higher levels aren't as difficult to level up as it was to get past level 400 on there...
-
Idk people just complain about everything

THANKYOU SOMEONE HAS SAID IT

6 RepliesEveryone needs to trust in the good folks at Bungie! I know they're only a tiny tiny developer with little experience in making games but I'm sure they have all us obsessive compulsive anally retentive levellers well taken care of!
