The big problem to voice chat is that nobody wants to use it. Personally, i don't want to listen to some punks mutter BS(i think they're slurring the words to the song and only know a few words) and talk shit to teammates while making sure their rap music is heard to everyone. The majority doesn't use it and those annoying pests as mentioned seemed fairly common to run into. The majority just isn't going to us voice chat unless with a friend, more likely only using voice chat in a PSN/xbox party chat. People really tend to just do whatever they want. There just doesn't seem to be anything they can do to get people using them. Its very sad that Xbox nor PS developed a Push-to-talk button, the mic doesn't have a great noise canceling either it seems. I think the only way people will start using mics if Bungie hammers down on toxic players and if the game is difficult enough that mics should be require... but so far its been easy. I would really like if they did change the gestures to more useful things as well. I would like it if you could mark an area or target. With just 4 options its seems pointless, if they made tapping 1 certain direction to give you other options then you would have 6 command options. Hold the Direction could bring up another set for social commands (wave, dance, _____ ) that would be 9 commands which could really change things up for none mic users. Sorry for coming off negative to things, truth is i was warming up to giving PUG voice chat a try after using console voice chat with friends.

  • Wrong. As you clearly have missed from this post and many others like it on this website and countless others, many of us DO voice chat with or without friends. It is quite sad that many people, yourself included, cannot find a mute button in games where you are annoyed by the noises. Every game that ive ever played with voice chat has had a mute button so i really dont see the problem. Stop trying to ruin this for the rest of us.

  • Clearly from all the FPS multiplayer vs games the vast majority doesn't use there headsets. Im not using my headset to listen to 1 person. Many?, what bs. The vast majority doesn't use it, the only time i see people using is from some premade group.

  • Wrong again. Go play COD as an example and tell me how many mics you hear. I dare say its nearly half half. And I am only talking about FPS games, but we can include MMO's here as well because this is a sort of hybrid. No my fault you play by yourself and no one wants to talk to you

How do i play by myself in multiplayer for fps?. Listen to you, lol. I played plenty of that shit CoD, its rare for people to use their mics outside of pre-groups. Running into pre-groups isn't that common. If it was that common then you people wouldn't be bitching about people not using their mics, so shut the fk up. Its bad enough that OP is asking for on screen markers and such to communicate without the use of mics, not that i would not be asking for them with use of communication. Really tho, if it wasn't as bad even as you say then there wouldn't be much of a reason to cry about it. Truth is that if people wanna communicate and work as a team then they should make friends and form one. And what a shit thing to say "No my fault you play by yourself and no one wants to talk to you". First, you would be right and i never would have blamed anyone if nobody wanted to talk to me, but i never said such. Second, i leave my headset off cause i clearly don't see anyone using it, but i do use it with friends. Honestly, you need to shut your mouth at least as a courtesy so nobody needs to see the shit falling out of it.

  • You mad bro? Sounds like I struck a nerve saying you play by yourself. Not surprising though, I mean your post speaks volumes about what kind of person you are. GG

  •
The big problem to voice chat is that nobody wants to use it.
Coming from the Last of Us multiplayer, I disagree. Maybe you don't want to use it, but me and a lot of my friends do. And it's easy to block the kids that any you.

Good, me and my friends use the console chat as well, but i see hardly randoms ever using it in vs. So i just stick to party chat, where i can also just talk all the shit i want and about anything.
