I have an idea that I feel is great. We should be able to see like a green blip on our radar signifying that there is loot in that direction. I hope that Bungie reads this. NOT LOOT CHESTS LOOT DROPS.

Holy shit that locusts has no life lol 54h played in a beta why respond to that btw this seems like a good idea in a future patch not now though the loot system now makes you want to run around and admire the game instead of going to it and grabbing you search all thru shrubs and rocks bungle created think about it that way

Good idea for the drops cause my new boots got all sticky and dirty walking over every corpse

3 RepliesI can find the engrams just fine. You just gotta be more considerate to go over to where they died and pick it up. You are kind of lazy if you don't just look over to tell if one dropped something or not.
-
I feel the opposite. I'm hopeful chests will remain off radar, so there's a feeling of intrinsic wanderlust in the game and a sense of accomplishment when finding one. Dropped loot however, especially on large scale fights (I'm looking at you Devil's Lair encounters) where it's easy to lose loot in the topography, a radar blip would be optimal.

2 RepliesThe loot chests appear to be somewhat secretive. If you look on the "Set Destination" map, on the right it says "_/_ Gold Chests." Clearly it is meant to be another element to keep the player's attention. By adding a blip to the radar would defeat the purpose. Why not just hand the players more money after killing the nearby mobs then? Makes no sense.

1 ReplyThat Locus guy seems like a real douche, true story.

20 RepliesWhy bother playing a game with exploration and an open world with secrets if you want everything handed to you. You can hear loot chests if you pay attention. If you explore and aren't lazy you can learn where things are and what area holds what. Your brain, eyes, and ears will tell you where everything is if you used them instead of relying on a gimmick/button/map/radar to get the things you want. Its not complicated or hard unless you make it that way.

I don't know why everyone is confused but I agree
-
2 RepliesNah that would take the fun out of searching for loot crates.
-
Idk about all that but it would be nice for the dropped items to be a little more noticeable

8 RepliesEdited by Garras: 7/22/2014 7:41:44 AMNooo I dont get why you people always want things handed to you Its loot for a reason you have to search for it and find it If they just gave away position of loot i wouldn't get that satisfying feeling after finding it

Nah, I like it the way it is right now. Makes it more entertaining when I run into a group of enemies and I can be, "BY THE TRAVELER! There's too many of them! Why did I do this?! I'm going to di-oh hey! Loot orb thingie!"
-
No please no

2 RepliesI think after a battle has ended you should be able to scan the area with your ghost and have it highlight items. Or maybe even fly around and grab any important drops like weapons and armor but you would still need to go around and pick up ammo.
-
I agree
-
i like someone elses idea of the loot being highlighted when you bring out your ghost. that was a really cool idea.
-
1 ReplyLoot drops need to be on the radar and more visible overall, but chests and stuff like that should be hidden
-
Might be cool. I have experienced several occasions when I leave an area only to remember that I did not walk over every corpse for loot. Especially in the strike.
-
1 ReplyThis is a good idea... For loot DROPS, but not chests. chests should be discovered by those willing to search.
-
I second this suggestion

3 RepliesWhen I turn my surround sound way up I can hear the loot boxes. I can tell what direction the sound is coming from and go that way.. The sound gets louder the closer you get... kind of like super fine wind chimes ;)
