I have a question. How many times have you been through the mission map at this point? 20? 40? 50? Now compare this to how many times you might be on the same map if this was the entire game and not the Beta. I'm pretty sure that you're tired of the same old place already because that's all we have. Expect the full game to be far more diverse and expansive than we have right now. They (Bungie) have literally only given us one teeny tiny part of a Russian wasteland. That's hardly a clear image of what to expect from the full release, come September. I do get what you're saying, but to me, Destiny has just as much interactivity as any other game out there FPS or otherwise. They DO try to mix it up occasionally, especially with the randomly positioned chests, the high level mob areas (that one hit kill us right now) and the random events that drop in from time to time. What you're asking for is possibly already in place to go live in the full game.

  • I would say I have been through the map maybe 5-6 times? with different classes. My point in this post is what we have available to do is quite boring as it is now for reasons explained in my post above. Once you have seen something once in this game so far you don't miss out on much if you never go back. Because the environment is just beautiful and nothing else. As a combat comparison lets use Halo. The enemies had different weapons and classes for the base units in the game, so far from what we have found with Destiny they are just one static unit and don't change weapons at all. Even from a combat perspective it just isn't up to scratch and the loot feels really tacked on (you cant say random chests in every 7 empty rooms is a solid effort at rewarding exploration). I really want to believe that it is in the full game but they have given me no serious reason to believe so.

  • The enemy units weapons in Halo were varied because they dropped them upon death for Master Chief to utilise. This becomes somewhat a mute point in Destiny. I'd like to point out that there are different classes in each race that have their own weaponry too. If every cave out of the 7 you visit had a loot crate in it, farming would be too simple and everyone would be complaining and looking a gift-horse in the mouth. I'd rather scan a cave quickly, not find anything then generally be thrilled when I DO find that rare chest than have them scattered around with a bunch of junk drops in them.

Again your points are weak and you have not dismissed anything in my forum post. Weapon variations with the enemies changed the way combat played out and the way players responded to enemies. Remember the first time you ran into a suicide grunt? or a grunt with a heavy weapon? it seriously changed the way you played. There is none of that here (maybe not absolutely nothing, but next to nothing). Also having random chests appear in certain rooms is a really lazy and uncreative way to find loot. If you have better points than its a beta or serious evidence to point to that support your views I might come back. But for right now I'm done here.

Well s**t, no loss there then. If you're not prepared to back up your claims with any logical retorts other than insults instead of constructive debate, I won't miss replying to this post at all.

My apologies I seem to have mistaken you for Dragonsfollower a few posts down when I finalized my response (if you read the conversation you will understand). So please don't take it personally. Alright lets be constructive, so if you could point to the evidence you have used to answer these questions I would appreciate it. Can you deny what I have said in my initial forum post using evidence that you can point to? Also aside from what I have mentioned in my forum post what interesting/quality interactive activities are there to enjoy in this beta which aren't as written in my fourm post? And finally what serious reasons do you have to believe that the quality of the NPCs, AI, Missions, (at least the side missions), exploration rewards/diversification (ways to get loot ie scavenging)and environment interaction was all heavily restricted in the beta map and is going to make a serious jump or change come launch? Because I currently have a strong sample of 2000 individuals of which a strong 76% state that the majority of these issues do exist within the beta and require change. With no reason to believe that these issues are only with the beta with the launch two months away.

  • Apology accepted, but no I'm fine thanks. This all seems very one sided. It's as if everything on this thread has been formulated as fact, where you have gathered a near unanimous vote that Destiny is and will be a bland and uninteresting game where a need to touch, affect, talk to and generally interact with is far more important than the actual purpose of the game, being exploration, combat and survival. I don't know where you got 2000 people to rally behind you. If you mean the responses to this thread, not all of them agree with you. If that's not the case, I'm not sure why you'd feel the need to purposely go out to find yet more people to agree with you in the first place. Where most of the threads on this forum are made up of opinions, it's like you've tried to make gospel instead. I don't need to provide evidence. This isn't a court case and I'm enjoying the game as it is, no matter how it turns out in the end. So this will be the last I talk here on the subject. All the best.

If that is truly how you feel then ok. But I'm just going to leave this here for you to see. Sentinel 13h 39m ago Permalink "Well s**t, no loss there then. Oh and I got that number from the poll (pecentage via the app, number via computer). I just assumed everyone could see it if they voted.

  • No I think your right. For a budget that big they could do with an AI upgrade. However the barren wasteland does fit with the lore somewhat. But I do believe that the ebonies should have a more dynamic role in the world. I understand that this is a beta but I still think they could do more. The world seems boring sometimes. Once you memorized an area it ceases to be fun. And feels like grinding in any RPG. It can be fun some times but I don't think fun enough to last 10 years. An adaptive environment and smarter AI would be small improvements that could make a HUGE impact. And I'm fully confident bungie has the ability to do so. The maps could also be bigger. Which I expect well see expand with DLC but bigger doesn't always mean better, I think they should be more dense. They could add verticality and the dynamic changing world constantly shifting would keep the replay value very high. I like your point about the fallen nor using there four arms.they look more like decoration than actual arms. There movements easily predictable and boring. At least doing a roll or two would be nice. But instead we have basically one enemy with 4 different skins. Dregs, captains, vandals and the floating things. The game is visually stunning but the new shiny effect will run out soon enough. The game needs content. More depth. Or we'll "starve" just eating the "little green leaf". Loot drops can't be what the whole game is about. It needs more story and action. Things bungie should consider: >smarter more dynamic enemy AI. >dynamic environment. >Story inspired conflicts. >player actions impact setting. >more challenging.

  • Beta or not you can tell a lot by it. They can't completely remake the game in a month. This is not gonna be much different than the actual game. We are talking about gameplay and we are saying it's lacking. Also the point of a beta is for people to bitch about it now so when it comes out there is less to bitch about.
