Oh no, I spoiled it, didn't I? :( Well, if you go to Lost Izaleth, you'll find him really... Unlike himself at the bonfire after the centipede demon. Then later, while exploring, he'll be wearing a sunlight maggot, and is driven mad by the thing. He says he found his sun, all while attempting to kill you. I had no choice. :( But on the bright side... I got the sunlight maggot, which you can wear for light in the Tomb of the Giants instead of using a lantern.

Ranking up in the Chaos Covenant allows you to take a secret passage to the sunlight maggot, so that you can kill it before it warps Solaire. Then he can join you in the last battle.

I knew about the passage and summoning, but I didn't know that you still get the maggot. XD I've never actually done it myself. First playthrough, I had no clue about it until after.

Ah that's sad :( I liked him . And tbh it's okay you spoiled it, I most likely won't finish the game

Oh, okay good. :D And I hated killing him too... I just sat and looked at the screen for a bit, feeling bad.
