Yeah, with more loot exploring would be far more exciting. But when you actually go looking there is usually nothing there and if there is it wasn't worth the time you spent looking for it.
I'm really concerned about how lifeless and sterile The Tower is at the moment -but I'm quessing (well hoping) that it'll be fleshed out with more RPG and story-driven dialogues and activites on and post-release. It just doesn't feel like the nerve-centre of a great galactic reconquista at the moment .
The Old Russia maps are sparse -and true-that's because we're picking through the embers of humanity, but it would be nice to have more opportunites to affect the world, not quite sure how that'd work in an MMO style, maybe take a leaf from Guild Wars 2 or something. Maybe being able to capture small corners for small faction outposts that could be re-taken by the AI - that might get annoying quickly though I suppose.
The tower does need a revamp to make it look and feel like more of a hub because asides from the cut scenes the story really doesn't seem to exist there at the moment.
Player driven impacts on the environment would probably be to hard to pull off as other people have pointed out (players at different parts of the story would be at a loss). I don't see why the enemies cant interact with each other on a greater level than they are now though, even if it is not as dynamic as I would like it to be.
