This is a repost from last night as I didn't get a response that helped.
I'll explain exactly what happened. I don't entirely understand.
I preordered Destiny on Amazon. They sent me the code to enter so that I can get the Beta code on the 17th. I go to Bungie.net, and here's where it got confusing.
I was already logged into my account that I created using my PlayStation network credentials. However, the website asked me to log in again. I thought it was weird, so I hit the PlayStation network button and it automatically entered my PlayStation account name and password. Boom. I'm logged in again with my one and only PSN account. I enter the beta code thing, but now, my profile pic is this weird....gorilla with a fedora thing? I dunno what it is, but it's different. I quickly realize this isn't my old account; the pic is different, I can't see my PSN friends list, and the unique user ID number is different.
I thought it was weird. So I logged out, tried logging in again USING MY EXACT PSN ID and password as I've been doing since the beginning. Nope. Took me to this new profile.
I got onto my girlfriend's new laptop and tried logging in using the exact same log in info I've been using the whole time, but now it's logging me into the old account, my first account.
It gets confusing again. I downloaded the Destiny app and logged in on it, but it logged me into the old account.
This is bothering me for several reasons. 1) the beta access seems to be tied to this random newly created account. 2) The old and new account use the same PSN info, so it's the same password, same username, same email, yet they're two separate accounts? 3) Different devices log into the two different versions of the account. 4) This new account, which I'm posting from BTW, doesn't show my PSN friends list. 5) I'm extremely confused and worried this weirdness will somehow lock me out if the beta.
EDIT: Now I've been able to Unlink my PSN from the old account and to my new one, but it will not show my friends list. Is there a way to merge these two accounts? I've reached out to Bungie on the matter many many times and I've heard nothing back.

3 RepliesLatest status of my problem: I was able to Unlink my PSN from my old account, but now I cannot unlink it from my new one. I keep getting an error saying, "ErrorCannotLoadLinkedCredential". I think if I can get that fixed, I can at least relink that to my account for real then be able to use the app to its fullest and actually interact with the beta and PSN profile. Heck, I may be able to see my friends list on this page again. But still, I wanna get my old account, the other FruitJuice617 account, deleted or something

1 ReplyEdited by Noble Iron Sky: 7/18/2014 9:12:04 PMHey there FruitJuice, I'm sorry to say, but the scenario you are describing isn't possible with the way our accounts system works. If you use the same login credentials as you use to log into your PSN account on your PS4, as you do to log into your Bungie.net User Profile, it will only ever take you to the one profile.
It is not possible to have any one Auth Type associated with more than one profile at a time
Pure and simple. It sounds as though on your first device, you may have a different PSN set of credentials cached. I would recommend clearing the cache / using private browsing and trying again. To see your friends list on PSN, you must be signed in with the PSN auth type. To unlink an account, you need to not be signed into that account, and it must not be the only account on that profile. Hopefully this answers your questions, All the best, -NIS
