My dad was adopted...he has no idea who his real parents are and that leaves a giant hole in my traits and ancestry. I guess that's why I learn things quickly. I also have a couple friends who were adopted...they have no direction in life. If your baby is up for adoption. Make sure the kid knows who it's parents are down the road.

    It's an open adoption so that kid will be able to see me as often as she wants.

  • This may sound strange... I only want to be in the child's life when the child is comfortable with it. When she decides she doesn't want to see me, I will totally back off until she decides it's okay. I also don't want to invade the adopting parents since it's their family and all.

  • That could work but still it's your responsibility to see her. You're the mother. My father never met me until this summer when he could've came into my life anytime he wanted beforehand. But he never did.
