First off, I'm an xbox player. I always have been. Both the xbox and playstation communities have a part of them that is frowned upon. Those are the people who whine and complain about any exclusivity that anyone else gets. Now coming from me, the gamer who has received timed content from games like CoD, etc. (I can't think of any others as I am mostly a pc player now) can tell you that no matter what content it was, it only lasted a week max. Any preorder content, or any form of content like it. And I cannot stand xbox players complaining about how the playstation players get exclusive content, because we all know those two guns and three sets of armor are going to be worthless in a week prior to the release because ever player will have it. On a side note, I also hate seeing xbox players complain about bungie not liking their xbox fan base. That's ridiculous.
Sorry for any grammatical issues or spelling issues. It is about 5am and I'm typing on a tiny iPhone keyboard.
I just wanted to share my thoughts with the bungie community! Welcome all! Playstation and Xbox players alike!

Oh did I forget the DLC for Red Dead Redemption and a few more I forgot about? Like LA Noire? Mortal Kombat anyone? Don't forget No Mans Sky either. There's more but I can't remember them. Also Microsoft funded Sunset Overdrive and Titanfall, they would not have been made without their involvement. So don't bring up that. Timed content is shitty no matter who does it. I wish an end to it so all of us can get the same game no matter the platform.

4 RepliesI'm fine with timed exclusive content but play station players get more from the season pass then xbox, I should get the same stuff no matter which console I choose

1 ReplyI don't care about the content its the sheer how to say it politely insulting manner Bungie seems to be dealing with anything and anyone connected to Xbox. Hell they aren't the same community oriented company that they were anymore. It's just depressing and a change for the worse I believe. I've stopped rattling my consumer cage now anyway they won't listen Bungie has stopped listening to any of it's fans Playstation or Xbox. These are the end times of a once very rewarding company to have bought the product they made. I don't doubt the game will be good, Bungie are perfectionists in their art if anything else, they won't send out a sub-standard product. But we seem to have lost that spark that made Bungie well BUNGIE. Just my thoughts on the matter bud

It's more the principle of the matter

1 ReplyTo be honest it's a back and fourth type of deal I've noticed that when something new is released exclusively for a certain console only the people in the opposite community go crazy saying that the company hates them and that the other community is just over privileged but it will happen vise Versa and still people start a nancy fit acting like children.
in short people are complete morons and need to get on with their lives and stop complaining over simple products, that time could have been well wasted on something more productive
2 RepliesMy Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.

3 RepliesI do kind of feel bad for the Xbone and 360 players though. Their beta starts 6 days after the PS3 and 4, and ends at the same time. I just hope that they are able to download it in time to actually get to play.

1 ReplyGood post, I feel the same. I could care less about not getting those few items as they will get replaced rather quickly anyways. Just enjoy the game and have fun.

12 RepliesEdited by Rappo000: 7/15/2014 8:19:44 AMI wouldn't be too worried about the exclusive stuff, but if you have seen the leaked xbox one footage... it's quite alarming Edit: not sure if i'm allowed to link it here.

10 RepliesI truly can not understand why some Xbox players are so upset. Well, I understand why, but I don't really think they have much of any reasoning behind it. You're still getting all the content, and the beta, they're just timed exclusive to Playstation platforms. It's independently developed content that Sony paid for in order to market the PS4. You're still getting the same game and all the base content that was originally intended for the game, not to mention that you'll still get the Playstation exclusive content later on anyway. I guess being on the other end of that stick this time sucks, doesn't it? Microsoft has been paying loads of cash for timed exclusive content for years (probably more than they spent on actual exclusives, but that's another story). Sony does it with Destiny and now Xbox players are throwing fits that Bungie has "forgotten their roots" and is "neglecting their fans." They haven't and they're not, they have fans on Playstation too you know. If I owned a PS3 and an X360, can I not be both a Playstation fan and a Halo fan (and therefore a Bungie fan)? Personally, I think timed exclusive anything is a stupid idea regardless of who does it, but that's not the point. The point is some people are way overreacting to something that isn't even a problem. When Xbox was getting the deals, Xbox players had nothing to say. When Playstation gets a deal, now its unfair. You want to be given more than Playstation players or you want to receive exactly the same as Playstation players, but if you're given less, you throw a fit. Again, I'm generalizing. Not all Xbox players are like this so please don't take this personally. Oh and lets not forget, the GTA IV DLC was exclusive to the Xbox 360 for a year. GTA had become what it was up to that point as a Playstation franchise, but the Xbox 360 version is getting the timed exclusive content? Outrageous. No, wait, its just business. You have to deal with it (or get the other console). I chose to just wait the year out for the GTA IV DLC. And hey, the additional content really wasn't really anything special anyway. Activision spent approximately $500 million to fund the development of Destiny. Avtivision (and Bungie) has every right to do whatever they feel they need to do to make that money back and then some. If they feel that promoting one console over the other will help them then that's what they're going to do. And lets not forget, in Japan, Destiny will only be available on Playstation consoles. If they gave Xbox special treatment, it would not help them in Japan. And not just Japan. Playstation tends to outsell Xbox in other countries. Really, Bungie is being smart with what they're doing. Sure this situation sucks if you're an Xbox player, but its business and you just happen to be getting the short end of the stick with Destiny. Welcome to the club Xbox, welcome. We Playstation players are used to it. Trust me, it'll be OK. Once 9/9 comes around, no one will care about any of this. We'll be too busy playing this great game. Sorry for the long read. Went on a bit of a rant there and I didn't intend to.

I certainly don´t care and i´m a PS 4 player. its outdatet in under a week. ^^
-
Edited by Dorwrath: 7/15/2014 8:37:36 AMIm certainly not bothered by it. However I do think gamers should be concerned about the precedent it could set for the future of timed exclusives. On a side note I be playing beta on both PS4 and Xbox One. Got a PS4 the other day and only have a handful of friends on it, so if anyone wants to add me I'm up for that. Same gamertag on both XB1 & PS4 as my Username here. However Im an older guy and probably old enough to be most of you guys Dad lol

6 RepliesXbox player here, not mad, just planning on going dark 7.17 through 7.23, want to be surprised and amazed as I press start.

1 ReplyI'm an Xbox fan/player (whatever ya wanna call me) and I stay away from all this so called 'fanboyism' normally too busy playing games, anyway I have no issue in the Playstation guys getting bonus content. I think there are too many vocal people on the internet (including media/gaming personalities) who make Xbox and Playstation fans alike look bad, I hate the arguments that take place on youtube and news article comments and normally ignore them anyway. I am a happy Day One Xbox One purchaser (I just don't feel the need to boast about it) I cannot wait for the Xbox One Destiny Beta!!!
-
I am also a xbox owner and I think who care for the dlc when their are so many great games coming out this fall and early 2015.
-
3 RepliesOnce players find exotic armor, who is going to care about the exclusives. I mean how much do you really care about missing out on an emblem?
-
1 ReplyI think what the main problem for me is the DLC, I don't care about the exclusive content at launch, but missing out on DLC thats within the DLC is what really gets me. Why should I pay the same price to get less. I'm not sure if its exclusive to PS or if it's just timed DLC and will eventually come to X1, if so is it a year? Thats way to long to take, timed exclusive should be limited to something like a month or two, not a whole year. On another note I have to tip my hat to Activision on there brilliant marketing for Destiny on the PS4, I'm a long time Xbox fan and bought an Xbox One at launch but they've managed to sway me a little, making the decision of what platform to get it on that much harder to make. But seriously Activision need to show that this is in fact coming to Xbox One, a part of me purely wants to buy it on Xbox just to give Sony the finger for stealing this from gamers everywhere and another part want me to get it on PS4 to show Microsoft they need to do more. So torn....
-
3 RepliesStop complaining. It's all we ever see. Deal with it. It's not game altering. Msoft is even giving us $10 back if we buy it online
-
Just because it is business, that doesn't mean people will like it, I mean, a lot of players are already invested one way or the other. That doesn't excuse the vitriol, but I understand why people are upset; regardless, we gotta move on, as there is zero possibility of it changing now. Make a principled stand and forgo the game if you must, but I think all that needs to be said on the subject has been said already.
-
Edited by Jarac Rassen: 7/15/2014 1:24:18 AMWell said. It's like I usually say: no one will be complaining about this when the game releases. Most Xbox players who are wihining are just childlishly trolling and fanning the flames that should have died down long ago. And of course, there are PlayStation owners who like to start stuff, too and brag. Ultimately, everyone will shut up when the game releases. No one will really care a week in.

Edited by masterchief54: 7/14/2014 9:56:37 PMI'm an Xbox gamer. I've made my point known in a number of threads over the past few weeks, but I'll do it again here. Am I disappointed I won't be getting all that 'exclusive' content? Sure. Am I even a little upset over it? Sure. Do I blame Bungie, and think maybe they're giving less to Xbox gamers as a way to give Microsoft the finger? ABSOLUTELY NOT! If anything, I'm mad at Microsoft for sitting there and letting Sony get the ONLY exclusive content. Activision signed a deal that the content Sony paid for would be a timed exclusive deal. There was very likely no stipulation that Microsoft couldn't come in and do the exact same thing. But, instead, they sit on their hands and allow this opportunity to support a third party game pass them by. And it's been their MO over the past decade to grab opportunities like this. Regardless, though, I am also sensible. This content, while it will be fun to play, is not a game-breaker for me. And the people who get it are all on a different server, and so I don't have to be constantly reminded of the stuff Microsoft failed to get me. All I have to do is sit down, enjoy my Beta experience, and then wait an agonizing 2 months before I get the full thing. Something tells me the hardest part will be that last bit. To all my fellow GAMERS, see you starside. To all who can't see past the finger-pointing game, enjoy your debate class.

3 RepliesEdited by Tegernako: 7/14/2014 3:16:05 PMAlso OP is blamming idiot. It's three guns, three armors, three ships, a map, and a strike. Also they have frakking dlc within dlc. Is that going to be the next big thing? Will the Destiny map packs have four maps and xbox players only get to play three of them for a whole year? Oh and what about Bungie ignoring the Xbox community completely for the past few months only to tell us our first bit of information for our system is that we get a 4 day beta to their 8 day beta and the alpha? We aren't pissed because we aren't being treated better, we're pissed because we aren't being treated as equals. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post?id=66087063 If some big bug or glitch gets past because we only had four frakking days I'm going to laugh my frakking ass off and say I told you so.
