Hey guys, new to the forums so hopefully nobody has posted this topic and im repeating but I haven't seen a whole lot of talk on the jumping abilites of the different classes. After playing every character in the Alpha did anyone else HATE the jet pack/hover abilites of the Warlock and Titan. You weren't able to come down when you wanted therefore you would be in the air as a sitting duck waiting to get shot. Especially bad for PVP. THe Hunter's double jump was the only jump that felt correct to me. Hopefully this is addressed.
Thoughts?

Edited by Shadow: 7/6/2014 7:59:09 PMIMO jet pack/hover is like the same thing they should've gave the titan something else idk super jump just sum else. Tactically the hover for the warlock if used correctly could be deadly. Example: Your low on health from a tough fight with a hunter you kill him and hit the corner then you see his comrad, a titan rushing at you so you turn around and run around the corner you came from and glide up. He hits the corner and is like wtf where he go but your above him AND BOOM!!!! he gets hit with a devastating ball of light and evaporates thus giving you a double kill.

Whilst in the air you can double tap the jump button when hovering to immediately drop. Also the Hunter is meant to be agile and quick. Oh, and the Warlock can upgrade to a blink ability...
-
Probably not going to incorperate having a jump on any of my characters except my titan. Because everyone knows how much fun blink/ teleporting everywhere is going to be.
-
The subclasses give different jump abilities. Like Blade Dancer gives Hunter blink instead of double jump. I'm guessing each class will have access to each jump type. With the "hovering" type different for each class.

Warlock is kinda like a Mage so it's fitting, and seeming like a jet pack for Titian works well for that one move where you're airborne and fly into the ground.
-
1 ReplyTap x once to jump Tap x twice to double jump Tap x a third time and you will fall fast to the ground
-
The intention is to use that as a difference between Classes. That being said I agree, titan was ok but I haven't heard anything good about warlock. Hunters was fun and functional
-
Also if you press x once, then wait just a little longer to press it twice you don't glide as high. Same for if you double tab it really fast you go high. I fell in love with it but it takes some getting used to!

4 RepliesYeah, I felt the same, especially when trying to get onto buildings or whatnot; There was actually one instance in which I was playing the Warlock on Alpha, and I got one of those side quests where you have to find a little transceiver or radio, I got to the spot and I couldn't jump high enough to get it. Afterwards, I hopped on my Hunter and happily double jumped up without any issues. *Shrug* I'm alright with this since I'll be playing Hunter almost exclusively.

You're right it's not good it's GREAT you come down immediately when you tap A or X plus with this ability especially while using the warlock you can observe the area ahead of you for a longer duration then the double jump
-
Actually you could go from glide to free-fall just by pressing x a 3rd time
-
I found the warlocks glide extremely annoying in the bigging but once I got used to how it worked I loved it
-
Edited by Ardenstone: 7/6/2014 6:17:08 PMI agree with Andus blood. That is exactly how glide works. I found it to be amazing. Falling from very high locations was nice because you can just float down.

You can instantly cancel a jump a come back to the ground by pressing jump a third time.
-
Edited by DEZARATH: 7/6/2014 5:42:42 PMFell in love with the Titan jump. The Warlock one I couldn't get at all. The Hunter jump actually got me to understand the Titan's. Depending on the beta if it hasn't changed I'm rolling three Titans for the game proper.

2 RepliesEdited by Andus Blood: 7/6/2014 5:38:54 PMTo clarify: first button press => jump, second press => lift/glide, third => cancel lift/glide fourth => turn it back on :) fifth => cancel there is an invisible gauge for lift/glide that refills when you drop on the ground
-
I LOVED the Titans jet pack...
-
2 RepliesI liked the Warlocks hover, the other two I didn't applaud for too much.
-
The upward hover is a bit slow, but after you could tap X/triangle you can press it again to drop straight to the ground.
-
You can stop clide at anytime just by pressing the jump button again you will fall down.
-
You could just cancel the movement and you fall straight down...
-
I believe there is a way to cancel the hover midair and bring you down.
