We've all been a victim to some coward hiding around a corner with a shotgun or some sniper who finds some weird vantage point to pick people off. It's a cheap, despicable exploit that ruins the gameplay. Yes, I am talking about campers. They ruin the game. But this is a problem that could easily be solved if bungie put waypoints above everybody's heads. That way nobody will get the drop on you because you will always know where they are. I remember the 1v1 playlist on halo 3 had a similar mechanic, but I'm surprised this hasn't been utilized more effectively.

I know this is a joke, but maybe if somebody was in one area for like 2 minutes then it would be easier for others to see them or something of the sort.
-
Sorry, but that's just a dumb idea. Camping isn't that bad in Destiny compared to CoD Ghosts. Also Destiny gives you a chance to still kill them while in CoD you die like instantly.
-
5 RepliesI wish they'd take kill cams out of gamed forever. Can't snipe if they know where I am. :/
-
I agree that I don't like camping but that's what an actual sniper is suppose to do sit in one spot and wait to pick people off
-
1 ReplyYeah. Why hunker down and wait for an opportune target while staying safe and not handing the other team kills when you can run around, flailing about without checking your corners. "Camping" (remaining in cover and waiting for your target to present themselves/let their guard down is what you'd do in most real firefights and snipers are famous for firing from hidden cover. What I like about video games is that when I'm feeling adventurous (sick of camping--not that I do it constantly) I can run about all frenzied and play the action hero. Sometimes encountering campers can be a lot of fun. Good campers force you to strategize, work as a team, or go balls out and hope for the best. Fun stuff. Maybe try playing more objective game types that don't reward camping.

2 RepliesIts a valid strategy.....call it cowardice...guess what? You are dead, he is alive...guess who's winning? Don't like it? Find a way to counter it or stop running into the mouse trap. Bitch about camping all you want....if I was guarding a point in a game or real life...I'd do it..... because intelligent play is a way to beat superior reflexes...and that is strategy

1 ReplyPart of the game and is not cheating. I dont camp but they dont bother me. When i find a camper, i spend the whole match seeking them out and intentionally screwing up their spots. Random grenades, claymore type devices, finding alt. routes to get to where they are.
-
Don't be a bitch bout the snipers and shotgun users it's part of the game and has been part of gaming forever so it won't change because some coward decided to whine bout how the game is played get over yourself and let people have their fun because there's always going to be those like me that jump at a chance to kill campers those guys get pissed off the most it's fun so back off them.

5 RepliesEdited by Rhynerd: 6/30/2014 4:27:52 PMFrom my experiences in playing Blacklight Retribution, I know that won't "fix" your issue.

4 RepliesDance around corners. You wont miss a thing.
-
The radar is already enough. Campers are easy to deal with. I don't like everyone always knowing where you are.
-
Don't forget the Halo 2 aim assist. Since Destiny is a console game which means it's not as accurate as PC shooters we need a device that makes up for it.

I understand the frustration, but it would make snipers useless, make spawn killing that much easier, and make stealth impossible. No.
-
Although the Sword Base and Countdown camping in Reach could be frustratingly excessive if you are the better player and the better team you will win. This will also be the case in Destiny.
-
Smart concept, but that would make assassinations MUCH harder...
-
1 ReplyLong face. Oooo long face. How do you come up with so many great ideas?
-
U can't camp. The alpha had a pulse radar based on distance from the enemy. So if ur close to one it shows up on the radar and gets bigger with proximity.
-
2 RepliesIf you've played battlefield you are familiar with the spot option, I think this needs to be implemented in destiny
-
Waypoints would be overly cheap. Camping is an irritant, sure, but its a legitimate strategy, and removing it would be a terrible idea.
-
Camping is a strategy. If you don't like it play in a way that is effective against it. Ie:stay in buildings and don't rush out all the time
-
Edited by sergeantawesome: 7/1/2014 4:27:32 PMIt is also called tactics and combat. Let people play how they want, even if its annoying. Its not ruining the game.
-
But then you can't really sneak around, and that would render sniper rifles and short-ranged weapons nearly useless. Campers aren't hard to deal with, just crouchwalk and use grenades.

5 RepliesIsn't that the point of being a smoker finding a vantage point to kill every enemy with little to no way of spotting them...
-
I think the waypoint was used for certain modes and last man infected.

How -blam!-ing hard is it to read tags people?
