During the alpha I realized something about Destiny that really bothered me. We didn't get to dress cool, instead if we wanted to live we had to dress for power, and this seriously sucks.
I want my guardian to be My guardian not some random guy with a random set of armor thats powerful. I think there should be some sort of work around for this, like perhaps stat transference from one piece of gear to another, that way I can look as cool as I want and not have to wear lame looking gear to take on the fun missions.
-
Transmoprhing ala WOW, I'm down.
-
Alot of mmos have vanity slots, these are armor slots that are just for looks they don't contribute to your stats. They could do that.
-
I found that this was the first game where every piece of armour looked awesome, even when mixed and matched with other random pieces. Most games have armour with gawdy colours, outlandish designs, or low-res textures that result in terrible looking characters that you'd swear do all their shopping in thrift stores. In Destiny, even when I had all different colours, I thought my character still looked cool as hell. The only thing I'd like is the option to remove the helmet everywhere...but only because the Exo class looks so -blam!-ing rad.
-
Well with shaders you can change color, but this isn't a sims game, you wouldn't be lounging around in a robe and shit. Maybe they'll introduce a transmogrification system like they have in WoW, so you can make your armor look like different armor sets, but it's still armor.
-
That's what the shaders will be for.
-
You're a soldier with issued gear, not a dress me up fashion doll. I'd rather be non-descript, blend in with my surroundings than stand stand out obvious.
-
Whoknows maybe the Cryptarch could use some sorta way to Transmogrify your armor(take armor and switch stats with another, yet maintain appearance. Seems like a cool idea tome
-
Maybe you should play barbies...
-
That's why they have dye and the aesthetic items like the hunters cape
-
As you level up and collect armor you will get the same armor prices but just with higher defense.
-
In the Crucible, armor defense was equalized, was it not?(with the exception of the Iron Banner) I dressed for looks, not stats, and it worked nicely for me.
-
It's called SHADERS Use those the you won't look "lame"
-
I want to look like poor Hatty here...
-
You can't defend the last safe city wearing a top hat and pimp boots.
-
Then you should go back to play Skyrim.
-
I used to tell people that I thought the Firebreak helmets Horn thingy was stupid looking......then I thought about it......read the Ahirant set helmet description and now I want my Melee to be a headbutt!
-
You can use a "shader" to make whatever gear you want a specific color
-
I want my character to be naked and not have their juicy bits pixelated. Wear clothes is for the insecure and really makes you character look stupid. I want the option to dress up as a leather daddy, a stripper, or burlesque performer.

Shaders
-
Called shaders bro
-
I heard Kim Kardashian has a new fashion app out for Ios and android you should check it out.
-
I wantz my guardian to look like a qt 3.14 loli
-
Later in the game all gear looks just bad ass
-
We don't need fashion items in destiny. You can recolor and choose your class item and that's all the customization we need for gear
-
Did you even check those Titan butt flaps? Cool as cucumbers :)
-
You can dye armor and get awesome class specific items
