Some people need more educating. Stop saying the human eye can't see faster than 50fps -.-'
Also, 30FPS is more than enough to have a VERY smooth gameplay. Yea 60 would be nice, but at 30 and some blurring/smoothing effects the game is gonna look stellar.
Just some food for thought. Bungie is filled with hardcore gamers, and I think if 60 was necessary they would sacrifice some eye candy.

4 RepliesWe aren't getting 60 FPS to keep the next gen (current gen?) consoles on par with the last gen systems so no one feels left out. That's why it is locked at 30 FPS.

18 RepliesEdited by MoReCoWbELLx2x1: 6/20/2014 2:19:44 PMExcept movies run at roughly 24 FPS, and no one complains. The only people that complain about this stuff are people looking for an argument or think that they have to have a higher number, when they don't

1 ReplyI know it's a long shot, but since Bungie is planing on Destiny for the long haul, I wonder if the 30fps is to make it easier for 4k video....just a thought. There are rumors of future 4k gaming in the future, hell even 2k would be nice. Just a thought, I highly doubt if but who knows.

BasicAlly thirty frames is the sweet spot....it's something I've argued forever but everytime a gamer hears this I get this look like I said the dinosaurs didn't exist or the earth is flat....people are retarded.

1 ReplyOur eyes don't use FPS! They send information to our brain constantly to our brain saying that photons of this wavelength hit the eye and they came from this direction. Movies look fine at 24 FPS because they use motion blur to simulate what the real world looks like from the perspective of a human. Games however do not look fine at <30 FPS because motion blur doesn't work that well in games. So if you want to compare the frame rate in a game with the frame rate in a movie then choose a movie that doesn't have any motion blur whatsoever.

16 Repliesthe human eye may be able perceive 200+ FPS, but the brain cannot process it. look at fluorescent light bulbs. they pulsate at a normal rate of 60 times per second; yet to us it looks to be continuously on.

2 RepliesAre you aware that human eyes don't see in frames? They just see movement. Frames are used to create the illusion of movement.

Edited by Tyger: 6/20/2014 5:46:34 PMPersonally when I watch a side by side I can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 FPS. But I do know for a fact that the airforce tested and proved the human eye can detect image changes at higher than 200 FPS so maybe I just suck. 720p and 1080p on the other hand...

1 ReplyIs this already the thread "Bungie We Want Destiny @ 1080p 200FPS", or should I make one ? :P

1 ReplyI see at 9,000 fps. That's the speed of life.

Ah FPS, the bit wars all over again.

10 RepliesThe human eye can see and process up to 60fps.

1 ReplySurely a game running at 200fps would be unplayable, too fast!

1 Replya games FPS isnt the same as the eyes FPS. The computer version means how many it can process at time, like how many tanks. In 30fps you would see the framerate drop when 8 tanks explode but in 60fps in will run smoother. Get what im saying?

6 RepliesEdited by Flawless : 6/20/2014 4:55:27 AMToo bad our TVs don't have a good enough refresh rate. But I agree

9 RepliesHumans don't see frames per second. We see wavelengths of light that are processed instantaneously by our visual cortex. Making a comparison however, anyone who claims the human eye can not "perceive" more than 30fps is either naive or blatantly ignorant.
-
1 ReplyI know its true. All you need to do is play on a monitor with s refresh rate of 144 and you can easily tell. Of course since I play on console I bought a monitor with 75 refresh rate since consoles can only max at 60 and when I played a 60fps game it was night and day.
-
4 RepliesThe reality is that no matter what were stuck with, 60fps would have been better. If had the choice of getting 30fps vs 60fps with no downside, why would you not pick 60fps?
-
Ha. I can't. My vision sucks and my glasses don't make things like 1080p and 60fps any more visible.
