I love Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones. Sure his voice is a bit monotone but I think it's supposed to be that way, after all he is the voice of a robot. And besides, I find his voice very calming and I think it goes well with the silence and beauty of the game. Who would want a high pitched robot screaming in your ear the whole time?
EDIT: After watching more videos and giving it more thought, I admit, it could have been done way better.
His voice is definitely soothing, however the way he lacked emphasis in some situations did sound a bit odd and funny at the same time. Although I'm sure this will be fixed before the full release, I still think Dinklage is a good match for this role (with a few edits of course).

The lines he was supposed to read were retarded and cheesy.

I personally find the Voice acting lacks Character. Of course some might say "it's a Robot" but first of all, the Voice didn't sound robotic enough for that. And secondly think of all the memorable Robot-Characters like, C3-PO, Mr. Gutsy / Mr. Handy (Fallout 3), Cortana or that Computer voice from Portal. I mean, just because it's a Robot, he doesn't have to sound like one.

30 RepliesIt's bad. And despite what someone states on this thread, it's not the vocal minority it's gamers and game developers who know it sounds bad. Gearbox's Randy Pitchford played the Alpha and liked it but even he voiced his distaste for Dinklage's voice acting. You can essentially Google to find out that a lot of Games media websites have voiced their distaste for the voice acting and the lines that the Ghost character has. Also there's nothing calming about his voice. It sounds like he's just reading lines and it creates cringe worthy moments. Ghost is also sapient like 343 Guilty Spark and Cortana, yet they all delivered believable dialogue. How Bungie thinks that any of his voice acting and lines are passable is beyond me. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if final product has changes.

Edited by Shadow: 6/22/2014 4:12:29 AMI love game of thrones and his role its one of the best but his voice in this game is just so bland and boring it just doesnt fit destinies theme imo. So with that being said I still think Wall E or Snoop Dog would be a waaay better choice. I honestly dont know what the -blam!- is the big deal of having our ghost voice customizable like why cant we do that

I demand Brian Blessed for the voice of the ghost.

2 RepliesWith some good vocal effects it would work. He sounds like a human speaking in a monotone fashion...bad. Either add some autotune with reverb plus some other vocal modifiers or have him not talk at all.. It just sounds unfinished to me.

1 ReplyNothing i just want Neil Degrasse Tyson to do my Ghosts voice! Yah!!!!!

3 RepliesMorgan Freeman should be the voice for ghost.

Sure his voice is a bit monotone but I think it's supposed to be that way
Which is why you don't get Peter Fukcing Dinklage into voice him

Dinklage is terrible as the voice..or atleast how the voice is implemented. Its to loud and sounds like he's sitting on your shoulder talking in your ear. Theres no voice movement as its coming from a floating device. Plus he sounds bored

Ghost needs zombie voice from saints row.

2 RepliesEdited by JohnGalt: 6/20/2014 10:32:53 PMYou know what? I bet you he'll develop more character, personality, and identity as the game progresses. I just don't think the snippet they showed of the ghost talking in the alpha really did him any justice since such a small part was shown... at least I hope so.

1 ReplyI don't know much about Dinklage and I'm not a fan of Game of Thrones, but I still love the voice acting of ghost. I enjoyed it a lot in the alpha! :)

after all he is the voice of a robot
Yeah because we all know how bland and emotionless Bungie's AI have been in the past.
