Do Exos Dream of Electric Ghost? (Just How Sentient Are Exo?)
Did Bungie ever elaborate just how Sentient the Exo are? Are they like Sunny from I Robot, Replicants from Blade Runner, or Roy Baty (and the Nexus-6's) from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Do they have feelings, emotions, dreams, and motivations? Or are they more simple than that? Do they only listen to what they are told to do, mindless robots with no soul or spirit? Or do they fall in love?
Maybe my questions are to... involved but I'm curious as to how human they actually are, or like-human.

I've been super excited about the Exo race ever since I first heard about them. I definitely plan to play as Exo, it's just choosing which class after that! I'm very excited to discover their backstory and how they play out differently to the other races. There is something so sinister about them.

They're practically a human in a robotic form. I overheard Banshee-44 or Cayde-6 saying something about his dreams. So that's one aspect of the Exo.

They are just as sentient as a human is because it's technically making the decisions and judgements you are XP

2 RepliesEdited by Glitched: 6/16/2014 5:54:06 AMOriginally the Exo were advanced war machines built during the Golden Age, but when the Collapse began they all were shut down, most likely due to their command centre being destroyed, or something along those lines. The Traveller later revived the Exo. They had no memories of their past 'lives'. I would assume they are now entirely sentient, and capable of things such as complex thoughts and reasoning, and feeling emotions. There was also a Weekly Update post by Deej that mentioned them having "[i]beating, artificial hearts"[/i]. I assumed that meant that Exo aren't entirely robotic, and maybe have synthetic internal organs. Who knows?
