What right do you have to tell everyone what they should or shouldn't buy?

It's called having priorities. If you can't afford a console (or anything that's a luxury item for that matter) then either save up for it, wait until a price drop, or don't get it. It's basic common sense. I'm not rich in any sense. I saved up what money I would have left over from my weekly paychecks (after paying rent/bills/food/etc) until I had enough to buy my Xbox One. Whether or not someone can afford a console isn't Bungie (or any other company's) problem, nor should it be.
-
Actually it is. Why do you think Xbox One dropped $100? Because people bought PS4, which was $100 cheaper. Affordability is an aspect all major companies look at, and since Destiny needs $500 Million to break even, they need all the money they can get.

Console makers and game developers are two different things with different worries. And they'll more than likely make it back with no problem, with or without split-screen. GTAV has made over 1 billion and it didn't have near the amount of hype as Destiny.
-
That's because GTA V is a completely different genre. (AND freaking amazing)
-
A different Genre, yes. But it has a multiplayer similar to Destiny and has no split-screen. I was addressing that the amount of hype, followed by bringing a stellar product, brought them there. The same will happen for Destiny.

I believe it is to their benefit to add splitscreen to draw in more customers.
