I don't know why people DON'T want splitscreen! It's an OPTION, you don't HAVE to use it. So how does that take away from THEIR gaming experience?

Exactly my sentiments! 100% agree with you.
-
it´s not so much the function itself, as the understanding of a) the risk of the overall quality of the game might suffer, as they would be forced to break down and rebuild parts of the game to make split screen work b) said work would add a delay to a already very anticipated and somewhat delayed game.
-
They have 3 months. They could at least add it to the campaign or multiplayer. Also, several updates and patches will be implemented in Destiny post-launch, so splitscreen can come in there as well.
-
the interconnecting structure of the game means not one area of it can have split screen, meaning they have to work the entire game. On top of this many in game mechanics and systems needs to be reworked, in game areas need to be remodelled to fit the extra strain of split screen, often lowering texture quality. Gameplay would need to be rebalanced to make people using split screen able to match folks who do not. All this work normally done during a games development. People seam to forget that making a game is like building a house of cards, if you start pulling out cards or adding new ones is most likely gonna crumble parts of it, forcing the devs to build it up again.
-
The interconnecting structure of the game is already split up for those individuals who are utilizing PS+ or XBL Gold. If you don't have those subscriptions, you are forced to play the game as a single-player experience. You can add "coop" to the campaign and allow for a small split screen experience that way. It's not perfect, but it's something. JTS

And let gameplay be rebalance! Destiny will be updated several times, so they can work on it over time, and upload it when they wish! They have all the time they want.
-
Three months is not enough time to institute something like split-screen, while still making the Sept. deadline/launch. Further proof you know nothing about which you speak.
-
Destiny will have several updates POST-launch. Therefore, knowing Bungie, anything is possible. And why are you against it so much? Splitscreen is an option. If you don't like it, don't use it. Just don't ask others to suffer just so you can feel good about yourself.
-
Bungie is not stupid. They are a HIGHLY proficient game company who know how to plan and make games-- keyword: plan. If they have allowed the chance for the Community to decide whether the game should have splitscreen or not, then they would already have had the game structured for such a change. They don't want to put any more work on themselves than is needed, and they most definitely don't want let the Community down--they love us. I can feel it.
-
So wait. I don't understand. Are you for or against splitscreen for Destiny?
-
I'm simply being diplomatic. If we are to truly reach a valid verdict here, we need some moderation.
-
Ah. Very true.
-
Its because most people have no clue how splitscreen actually works.
-
Exactly. They think it messes up their graphics, even though it only effects graphics when in SPLITSCREEN mode. If they want single player, let them have it! Just don't ask us to sacrifice splitscreen. In fact, I can GUARANTEE that Bungie will get even MORE money WITH splitscreen, because people like it so dang much. Look at this poll! Less than a day in, and already 170+ people voted FOR the return of splitscreen. Doesn't that say something?
-
splitscreen has been around for a LOOOOONG time... dunno why kids still have no clue how it works.
-
GUARANTEE that Bungie will get even MORE money WITH splitscreen
The topic has only come up in smaller areas. If more people were that passionate about the topic, than yes, bungie would have implemented it. Just think of it like this though: Bungie has to prioritize what needs to be in the game, and splitscreen isn't very high. However, there still is a possibility of it being added in later. It may not be a feature everyone cares for, but that doesn't mean it could not be revived later.
-
My forum has been up for less than a day and 250+ people have already voted majority in favor of the return of splitscreen. I get what you mean, however this is getting big, and I want to spread the word. We may be able to get splitscreen pre launch, and if you're right, post launch. But the message must be spread first.
-
yeah 250, a water droplet in the numbers Bungie has already estimated will buy the game, on top of that, you think Bungie will accept a poll on there own forum as some kind of proof, not likely. Doesn´t help either you demonstrated several times favourism towards the Split screen topic, clearly showing signs of bias behaviour, not the most trustworthy thing.

Bungie said they will listen if we speak up.
OsiRis VeX If the community feels like something should be changed or added will Bungie give us what we want? That’s an interesting question. It’s very rare that our beloved Community agrees unanimously about anything. This we know because we listen. We study and we watch. Bungie has always learned about our games from you. Some of our more interesting innovations have been sparked by your more interesting interactions. Now, if you come to us and demand that your favorite weapon gets buffed so that you can win more games, we’ll smile and nod and remind you that we love you. However, if you surprise us with some hilarious or fascinating way in which you share the world we’ll turning over to your control, some new magic just might happen. This how things have always been between you and us.
-
yes, but listening and doing is two different things, just because you roar loud enough doesn´t make your opinion right, it might make them listen, but they are not obligated to do anything.
-
I chose to take people at their word. Bungie will change the game if the community wants the game changed. Which is happening right now.
-
and the word is listing, not changing
-
What?
-
they made it clear if you speak up they will listen, but making them listing doesn´t automaticly mean they will change things.
-
Yes, but it is more likely to change the game than not speaking.
